Hello moms, has anyone celebrated a birthday at Magic Kingdom Orlando? We'll be there soon and my daughter turns 9. I'd love to surprise her with a small celebration. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

What can I do next?

stop by the main street station house and tell them it's her birthday - they will give her a button to wear that says it's her bday and she'll be getting so many Happy Birthdays all day long it will drive her nuts.

We also booked a pirate cruise one night while we are there and are celebrating both girls' birthdays on the cruise. They said they will sing a special song for them and make the birthday special.

to get more ideas you can visit the disboards - enjoy your trip, we will be there July 25 - Aug 5 and are very excited!!

Make sure you stop at City Hall on Main Street of the Magic Kingdom or Guest Services of any of the other parks for the birthday button like Nora suggested. Also you can order a cake if you doing dinner at one of the resorts full serve restaurants. Here is some info:
Birthday/Special Occasion Cakes

Restaurants:

Six-inch cakes are available at most Disney full serve restaurants for birthdays and anniversaries. Other cakes are also available and must be ordered in advance by contacting the individual restaurant.

The six inch celebration cake is $21.00 (plus tax and gratuity.) These do not require advance notice and can be requested at the podium of the full serve restaurant.

If you want a personalized, custom made cake, you can order it via the Cake Hotline: ###-###-####. This requires 48 hours advance notice.

Resorts:
If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort, you can order a Celebration Cake to be delivered to your room through room service or through the resort guest services.

Another thing we have done is order something special to be delivered to the room, that can be order through the Disney Florists:

You might also look for a birthday pin for a lanyard for her.

Hope this helps!

Let me know if you have any other Disney questions.

At age 9, is she still into the characters? We were there in March and I loved the character meals we attended (breakfast at Chef Mickey's and dinner with the princesses at Akershus in Epcot). The food was very good at both and every character at the meal visits every table. It depends on what your daughter likes. I think just being at the Magic Kingdom is an awesome way for anybody to celebrate a bday!! Tell them it;s her bday when you arrive and she'll get a button to wear which might get her some special treatment throughout the day.

the character breakfast is good. my daughter took the grandkids there last summer. she spent one day with her daughter at the bippity boppity boutique anna still talks about it. if you have time and can fit it in dinner at cinderella's castle would be good.
