My 2 year old daughter has been waking up recently with what looks like mosquito bites on her face, neck, belly, back, and legs. They ago away on there own in a day or two and I don't she her itching them. It just happens during the night. I put a mixture of triple antibiotic and hydrocortisone cream on them and that seems to help. We don't have any pets but got furniture from my parent (they have a dog) that had fleas, I also noticed when we moved in after Thanksgiving that there was animal hair around but with new carpet. I'm a clean freak and have washed bedding treated the carpet wiped down everything. But the thing is she is the only one getting bites she shares her room with her brother and I check him too and come up with nothing. Any advise would be helpful. The bite marks don't change at all just look like mosquito bits about the size of a pencil erase top. Please help

So What Happened?

I have washed all of her bedding including the plastic cover on her mattress. I didn't find any signs of bed bugs. But I sprayed for fleas and bed bugs. She didn't have any new bite marks this morning. Thanks for all your help.

I hate to say it, but this sounds like bed bug bites. My friend had the same thing happen to her son. They hadn't yet spread to the other bed yet so he was the only one being bitten at the time.

Try flea powder on the mattress. Vaccuum the mattress itself. Also, consider bed bugs.

Have you changed laundry detergent or soaps lately? I could be that they are hives from a mild allergic reaction to some new soap used just before bed or that is on her sheets. This would explain why she is the only one affected.

The same thing happened to my daughter a few weeks ago. When we had a few days of warm weather, some mosiquitoes actually showed up around our house. We were running the humidifier in my daughters room, not sure if that's what attracted them there or not. I just searched her room, found a couple and killed them. Normally in the summer she has horrible reactions to them, but these went away after a day or two.
Imsharing this in hopes that it is not bedbugs. :)

If this is related to bed bugs then look out for eggs that look like tiny grains of rice. They lay them close to a souce of food (bed) but in a place that isn't disturbed, such as a bed frame or night stand near the bed. It takes them about two weeks to hatch. You didn't mention where the furniture from your parent's home ended up in your home. Has your family or your daughter stayed overnight away from home recently? Good luck with this - hope that all is resolved with what you did.
