Sounds like Staph to me also. It could be MRSA and it needs to be seen by a doctor. They may be able to drain the pimples and not have to give her antibiotics.
my 3 yr old daughter has 2 "booty pimples" they are sore to the touch. they both have white heads on them but I don't want to attempt to pop as I'm sure they would hurt. I can see the kind looks like the ones that hurt. she doesn't have skin problems any where or any baby acne or anything. wondering if anyone has any ideas what it might be or the best thing to put on them. my daughter came to me today at one quick moment and was yelling "my bum, by bum, it hurts" when I touched the pimple spot she said that is what she was talking about. any ideas would be appreciated. I should also mention. she is day potty trained and wears a pull-up at night (and I think always pees in it, but takes it off as soon as she wakes up).
thank you to everyone for all your responses. you ladies are awesome. I was sufficiently freaked out, when just about all of you said go to the doc. I took her this morning. when she woke up today she was complaining the bumps hurt and there was a head on one of them, where last night they seemed to have popped and gotten better. I think the pee in her pull up from night could have aggravated it. we went to the doc first thing at 8 and by the time we got there the head was gone so there was nothing to swab or culture. my ped said he thinks it is fuliculitis, and told me to put warm salt compresses (using a diaper) for 30 min. 4 times today. if it's not better by tomorrow, he gave me a prescription for an oral medicine for the mrsa to start tomorrow if it's not better. so we will be vigilent today with the compresses and hopefully they will be gone tomorrow.

B.,
It could be something called Folliculitis - which is an infection. The eruptions are large hard and painful, and occur on the butt. Even though it looks like the pustules would pop, it takes A LOT to pop them and it doesn't hurt any less! She does need to see the doctor no matter what it may be. Pustules are a sign of infection somewhere in the body. Good luck!
My 2yo daughter had the same thing... her pedi didn't test her, but said it was most likely MRSA (which shortly thereafter, my 2 week old son had bumps under his bellybutton & was positive for MRSA). Their pedi put them both on an antibiotic & an ointment, and it cleared up really fast. Definitely get to your pedi ASAP!! If caught soon enough, it could be easily cleared up. Good luck!
Hi!! I know you probably dont want to hear this but that sounds like a Staph infection and you need to cover them and call your doctor asap... she needs antibiotics. They are very painful.. So the sooner you get her treatment the better! Good luck and God Bless!
My daughter had these raised white head "pimples" on her bottom for most of 2008. Every time one would pop-- on it's own-- she would scream in agony. We had to have a few of them drained b/c they turned into boils. My daughter had MRSA in 2 of the "pimple" locations. Please take your daughter to the pediatrician as MRSA can be deadly if left untreated. Once my daughter was out of diapers, the boils stopped appearing.
PLEASE take her to the doctor. My daughter had the same thing and we just thought they were regular pimples, until one formed that landed her in the hospital for a week! It turns out it was MRSA and the infection was REALLY bad.
Depending on the size of them it is very likely it is merely a type of diaper rash. My son had one or two when he was younger and our doctor told us to apply diaper rash cream.
I suggest that you still see a doctor but maybe this will atleast calm your nerves.
The best thing that always worked for me is Desitin, not the creamy one and don't buy the generic brand like Walmart or Target brand. I would put it on when the white wore off. It really works.

The pull up could be to warm on her bottom and they could be pimples from heat. I would put alcohol on them and it will make them go away.
My son had something simliar and the pedi diagnosed it as molluscum. Try searching molluscum online for pictures to see if it looks simliar.
I agree with the Staph infection. My sitter's daughters both had it and it was on different areas of their bodies - including the butt. They went to the dr. and it turned out to be MRSA. So, please make an appt and get those bumps looked at.
Hi, B.. They sound like bug bites, especially if they happenned suddenly and weren't there before. They could be from mosquitoes or even ants. Don't do anything to them except keep them clean. You might want to put some zinc oxide cream on them if they don't dry up and go away right away. In fact, go ahead and get some zinc oxide cream (the dollar stores carry it really cheap), and gently rub a tiny bit into the sores as many times as she changes underwear each day. Not a lot, because you want the cream to be absorbed and the sores to dry up.
I hope her little bottom heals up very, very quickly.
Peace,
Syl
Has she had them for a while and they just festered up??? It could be Mulescum which is common in children. Both of my boys had it. You might take her to the pediatrician to have them looked at or the dermatologist. If this is what it is, it is contageous to other children - not adults. It is a virus and they leave as quickly as they come. They aren't a big deal, but it is nice to know if that is what they are so you can take precautions if you have other kids in the house.

If the pimples don't go away in a couple of days or the area around the pimple becomes hard you may want to take her in to get checked for mrsa.
