My daughter is formula fed, we use the munchkin 19.99 bottle warmer, works fine....no need to spend 60 bucks on them.
My husband and I are expecting our first child in June and have a quick question regarding bottle warmers and the need for them. We have heard mixed responses on it bottle warmers and if they are necessary and are just trying to get a little bit of feedback from people. We will be using BPA free bottles, and I am hoping to nurse and pump, but was wondering if there are any pros or cons to the bottle warmer. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

You can get the same effect of a bottle warmer by placing the bottle in a bowl with warm water. It's free.
Also, you may want to hold off to see how your baby does. Our baby always took his bottle straight from the refrigerator (we did expressed breastmilk for the first 4-5 months). I tried to give it to him warm once and he was not interested whatsoever. This was so nice because we never had to wait for the milk to warm and the transition at 1 year to whole milk was so easy since he was already used to the cold.
We used the Advent warmer for our first son (now about 3) and are using it for our second son (9 months). I loved it and didn't know there were any issues with using one. I've only heard that microwaving is bad.
Congrats and good luck with your baby!
We used the bottle warmer for my son. We kept his bottles in a little cooler with icepacks in his room at night and the bottle warmer in the bathroom outside his room so we could roll out of bed at 3 a.m and feed him and didn't stumble down the stairs. We also used one during the day. We had no issues with it.
I would do it all over again with my next child.
I believe it was made by munchkin.
Good Luck to you!
I never used one, my son was formula fed and he liked it room temperature. If though I made some and kept it in the fridge I would just drop the bottle in a container of warm water, you get the same effect. Good luck and congrats, its a whole lot of fun.
I know, I know, I will take crap for it, but I used the microwave with both my kids bottles! FYI, many many daycares use microwaves too, they just dont let you know it! Just nuke and shake and you're good to go. The only bad thing is if you're out and they only take it warm, like someone else said. My DD still likes her milk warm only.
I nurse and pump as well and I have never needed a bottle warmer. We just put the bottle or bag of milk in a bowl of warm water until it takes the chill off.
I didn't get it because I hate counter clutter, :)
When we started giving bottles, my husband would microwave a pyrex glass measuring cup of water and put the cold bottle of milk in it. It warmed pretty quickly, but we always had to check it of course to make sure of the temp.
I agree with saving the money. Tossing the bottle in a glass of hot water is free!!!!! Getting the bottle to just room temperature is fine and doesn't take too much time.
I had a daughter last June, and did breast feed and pumped. I purchased a bottle warmer to heat the stored bottles from the frig, it seemed to take longer than if i would just heat water in a container and place the bottle into the warmed water. It was also a little hard to keep completely clean (from dust). I would not recommend the extra expense. Good luck with your new family addition:)
I would advise against a bottle warmer. We used one with our first child and it was fine at home, but when we were out, she always wanted it warmed. You can't really bring that with you. With our second child, I just gave it to him room temp (breast milk and formula)or slightly warmed if it was already in fridge. If you can get them to take it room temp or even cold, it will make your life much easier!

I used Born Free bottles. Warming under running warm/hot water was my bottle warmer.
Save yourself the money and buy yourself a postnatal massage instead.
Trust me, you'll need it!
BTW ***NUKING BOOBIE MILK IS A NO-NO! It kills the goodies in breastmilk. NEVER nuke breastmilk!
