At what point in your pregnancy did you start experiencing them?

I'm 25 weeks, and I think I've been having them for a couple weeks... I had them with my son, but much later in pregnancy, where they were much more identifiable... my whole big, hard belly would get super tight, so much so that you could see it tighten up, then relax... I am getting that tightening sensation, but it's not so obvious or visible on my not so huge yet belly... and it kind of takes my breath away for a second, until it subsides... sound like Braxton Hicks to you?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

ETA after reading Cheryl's response... there is no consistency to them at all... I might have none one day, then two or three another day... they aren't painful, per se, and they aren't worsening or getting longer or more frequent...

Yep, sounds like Braxton Hicks as long as they occur randomly and less than 4 per hour. I noticed them earlier with subsequent pregnancies (around 22 weeks). Thought they were so frequent and strong with last baby that he would for sure be born before due date. However, I was 3-4 cm and had Braxton Hicks from 36 weeks and he was STILL 7 days past due. I had them a lot L.. To the point where I was timing them at work. With one of the babies (cant remember which one) they started real early, 20 weeks. I think its pretty normal, and when I would call my OB about it they would tell me to come in for it was 5 or more in one hour. If you are worried, it never hurts to call. But, like I said, I think its normal. As long as you havent had preterm labor before. :)

my stomach would get hard in spots at first.. I actually had BX contractions from dehydration with my daughter and the hospital stopped them, and 3 weeks later I had her. Those from dehydration hurt more that the actual labor.. I had my daughter 3 weeks early from my due date.

Keep hydrated, relax and congratulations!

I had Braxton Hicks from my second trimester on with all 3 pregnancies. They were totally inconsistent, and would lighten up if I laid on my left side or put my feet up. Some of them were pretty rough too; if I was standing for a long period of time, I'd actually have to bend over while they were happening to be more comfortable.

It's just your body practicing and preparing, and it will continue to do so. Any time you get one accompanied by searing, white hot pain in your lower abdomen, red or pink discharge, fever, or dizziness, see your doc right away.

I am 35 weeks and have had what you are talking about for over a month now... more so when I kinda over do it. I was just checked by my doctor and all is ok... but it never hurts to talk to your OB about it.

As for mine sometimes they stop me in my tracks and I end up with the lower back and pelvis pain as well. Sometimes they go off and on for hours and others they just last for a little while. I kinda chaulk it up as I did something to upset her so she is letting me know to knock it off.

Good luck & Congratz on the little one!
