We just got back from Twin Coves Park (http://www.texasoutside.com/txorails/public/reviews/show_...) this past weekend. It was great and would be a great place for a group of friends to go.

Hey guys!
A big group of friends want to go camping! We are looking for a nice park - just one day to have a barbecue...pitch a few tents and have the camping experience! Do any of you know some - also, we want to be able to have alcolhol and I have noticed many camping places don't allow that! Please let me know if you have any ideas! Thanks so much!!!

Try Loyd Park......... www.loydpark.com
Great areas for camping, fishing, swimming, and clean facilities as well. I fish there all the time.
The Vineyards Campground, 1501 N. Dooley in Grapevine, Tx, is a very family oriented campground, for RVer's, trailers, tenters, or it even has full service cabins! A NO public consumption policy is in effect, IE, do visiable bottles, kegs, etc. In a cup is fine. Check them out at www.vineyardscampground.com A very popular place, so reserve 3 - 4 weeks in advance.
Cedar Hill state park is beautiful. The alcohol issue is the problem, though. When we camped there as long as it wasn't in site when the park rangers came around everything was ok (a.k.a. take lots of cups)
i like this two parks to go camping one is cedar hill state park and another one is ray roberts state park

Look no further- Grapevine has a brand new campstieset up an I heard it great!
I can find the number if you cant but its a nice location- new facilities-
Actually The Vineyards
1501 North Dooley St Grapevine
Dont know about the alcohol issue- but you can check- being that you are on a mom site I can tell its not for a "rowdy party" - lol

Loyd Park at Joe Pool Lake is awesome and very close. They are not a state park so you will have an easier time with the alchohol. As long as you aren't disturbing people and are somewhat discreet, they are ok with it. Alchohol is forbidden at all Texas state parks. However, some will not push the issue as long as they don't see anything. Others will give each person a $500 fine, so be careful. There is always someone patroling the campsites at all parks.
Good Luck and have fun.
