Steve's Auto in Rosenberg is great. Steve is honest, reasonably priced, and does all the work himself.
Does anyone know of an inexpensive honest car repair service station? I have something minimal that needs to be done so I don't want to be charged booko for it nor do I want them to tell me they found 50 other things wrong with my car.

Are you close to a Christian Brothers Auto Repair shop? If so, I highly recommend them. After being ripped off twice this past year, it was very refreshing to find these honest and reasonably priced folks. Good luck!
PS - They are also one of the few that can still tell what's wrong w/o solely relying on a 'code' to appear on a machine. :-)

You did not mention what area of town you are looking for, but Kwik Kar off Grand Parkway and Highland Knolls is very honest, the owner Dennis is a friend of ours.
we like Goodyear in Copperfield -- have gone there for years.
Haven't had to use them in a while, (knock on wood) but we have had very good (honest) service from a place called Lawsons. They are located at:
16702 Pine Forest Ln
Houston, TX 77084

I assume they are still there; located near Bear Creek Park on Hwy 6.
Webb Automotive on Mayard, which is off FM 529 near Eldridge. We go to church w/ Roy Webb, the owner, and he is a great mechanic, very honest, and reasonably priced. Last year, I had my check engine light come on, and the code was for the oxygen sensor and catalytic converter. He replaced the faulty oxygen sensor and told me that often the catalytic converter will show as being faulty when it isn't, because of the bad oxygen sensor. He told me not to replace the catalytic converter yet, and to see if the code came back for it(replacing it would have been a little more than $800). 6 months down the road, the code did return for the catalytic converter, but in the meantime I had those 6 months to financially prepare for that big dollar repair, and I got 6 months more use out of a decent converter.
I don't know where you live, but I always take my car to Hope Automotive in Missouri City off Lexington and Dulles (or 1092) I don't remember which intersection. I know sevreal of my friends use them as well.
my husband used a place from Angie's list. We used to be members. He thinks it was called Mustang in was in the South End of town but the guy was super honest and cheap. He recalls the guys name as Mo.
I just did a search:
