Be patient because it will take awhile. I've introduced a kitten to an adult cat about 4 times now through the years, and it usually takes a few weeks before the adult cat will become cordial to the newbie.
well i have a cat thats almost a year old now and we got a new baby kitten and my cat is agreesive he will bite you and scratch you and i dont want him to hurt the baby cat so we have them in 2 different rooms and we let my older cat out and he went to the closed door where the baby kitten is and stuck his pawl under the door and i wonder if when they are together will they get along?

It depends on the cats. I had the same 2 house cats for 2 years and then in June I brought in 2 kittens. Of the 2 house cats I had before, the male was fine with the kittens after a week or so... The female still hates them.
Just work on introducing them slowly... holding the kitten in your lap and letting the larger cat sniff him/her for a while.... Stuff like that.
I have three cats, and three dogs. THey usualy get along well.
Open the door. They will have their moments but the older kitty will most likely not hurt the little one.
That being said I have one cat who is still put out because we brought another home. It's been three years. She, the older is declawed the other is not. THey've had their misunderstandngs but no bloodshed.
C., the way you introduce your pets is having the kitten in the carrier and the older cat free, they will get aquainted through the door. cats are very terratorial so there maybe some jealousy there. Aslo if your adult cat is not nuetered or spaded can make them a little more agressive towards a new pet in the home. Give it time and don't force the friendship let it happen naturally. J.
Only one way to find out. You are going to have to introduce the cats. Just because your older cat is aggressive towards humans does not mean that he will be toward a kitten. Chances are he will assert his dominance and your kitten will accept that he/she is the subservient one. Remember, kittens like to play so if you see biting, etc. it might just be the cats playing with each other. We have two cats and when they play with each other or us there is a lot of biting and pawing at each other.
