Does anyone know of a good handyman or business that can lay ceramic tile in our kitchen for a reasonable price? We live in Kirkwood so it would be nice to find someone local.

Thanks to everyone that responded to my request. We went with Leslie's husband Brad who has his own company (Bradley Contracting, ###-###-####). He put down ceramic tile in the kitchen and pergo in our living room. He did a great job, very professional and fast. My husband and I highly recommend him.
I have a wonderful handyman, Lenny Weissman, he does everything. You can contact him at ###-###-####. He will come over and give you a quote, etc for free and then you can decide from there. If he thinks that he can not do it, he has a contractor who can. Good luck.

I know all of this because he is my husband!. He has great refrences, gets all his business from word of mouth and has many repeat customers. We live on Arnold, so Kirkwood is no problem. I am using Premier Construction for a whole-house remodel in Kirkwood. All of my ceramic tile came out beautiful. I wish I could give you an idea of their cost, but my price is a "total", and not broken down. They are nice guys. No one you would feel uneasy with in your home. I'm not sure how "small" of a job they will do, but it's worth a phone call. ###-###-####.

Have you considered doing it yourself? I laid all the ceramic tile in my kitchen and bathrooms. It is very labor intensive but easy to do correctly. I have never found a contractor that does it correctly because of the labor involved. Every contractor I spoke with only wanted to lay it over the existing flooring. I tore everything out down to the subfoor. Two years after I laid it my son dropped a 15 lb. bowling ball on it and it didn't damage the floor at all. The labor charge is generally twice the cost of materials or more. The lowest bid we got for just the kitchen was 8,000 the materials cost me 2,500 and it took about two weeks to lay the floor from start to finish. Because of the labor involved I also lost 20 lbs in the two weeks which was nice since my youngest was a little over two at the time and I needed to lose weight.

My brother Joe is an excellant ceramic tile layer..He just recently finished doing the Ameristar Casino and he also did West County Mall. He works for a company that does most of the big jobs, but he also does work on the side! He did my backsplash in my kitchen and my parents entire house in ceramic tile. call him if you want a quote.. Joe Gusmano ###-###-#### thats his cell phone and best place to catch him! I dont know what he charges but he is very reasonable. oh and he has been doing tile for about 20 years now!
