I'm looking for a non profit or sliding scale children's counselor for my 9 yr old daughter. She hasn't seen her dad for 5 yrs, and is having problems with abandonment. She's acting out. I don't know what to do. I just recently got a new job. They don't offer insurance. Any suggestions??

What can I do next?

Also The Parenting Center of Ft. Worth will help and has a slide scale. Give them a call, they actually have a parent help hot line, very cool and I have called them before just to get clarification stuff and it's always a counselor that answers.

Northwood Church in Keller used to offer a sliding scale counseling services. Not sure if they still do that anymore but worth calling, I had a counselor there that was wonderful but I do know that she went private a few years ago. but I would think they replaced her and would still have some services available

Check to see if you have an Easter Seals in your area. I do think they have a sliding scale. My son started counseling at 8 for the same problem.

call 2-1-1 and tell them your request. Itt is a clearinghouse of social service agencies and someone there might be able to help you or point you in the right direction. You could also ask the school counselor for some suggestions--they usually know the resources available in the area. Good luck. That is a smart idea to get your daughter some counseling to deal with those issues.

Sandy Allred, out of Family Christian Resources in Richland Hills. She worked with our son on some behavior issues and we had great results. Wonderful Christian lady, and she does work on a sliding scale. Number I have on record is ###-###-#### or metro ###-###-####
