My ex owes me $1350 in child sipport. My lawyer is filing a motion in court to have him go to court and ordered to pay. Again. Isn't there anything else I can do? Anyone with any advice?

You really don't even have to have a lawyer to do this. Friend of the Court at Fayette Circuit Court, in the court house can help you. File a motion, any back that is owed can be paid by adding a little to child support each month, or the state will now pay it off by taking tax returns and any bonuses from work that he may get.

go to legal aid. They are free and they love child support cases.
hes not very far behind so im not sure if they can do anything. ask your lawyer about garnishing his wages and see what they say. good luck
Contact your child advocate's office. They will garnish his pay, his tax refunds, etc. for child support, alimony, and anything else that he has been court ordered to pay. If your local agency is good enough, they will even investigate under the table pay.
Where to start... First, you don't have to have a lawyer to collect back child support. Your local Child Support Office should be doing this for you. In my case, my ex owed my two daughters more than $27,000 in back support. I followed him more than 13 years thru 4 states trying to collect. I never gave up or stopped pushing the Child Support Office to do their job. My daughters are now 20 and 21. I started collecting the arrears about 2 years ago. I went to a hearing where another woman was trying to collect support and the judge helped me have my case looked at again by the District Attorney. I will be collecting checks for years, as long as he doesn't move again.
Just know that there is always hope. Stay in contact with your local Child Support Office at least once a month. Never give up. It is not easy, but I know it can be done because I have 2 beautiful daughters that are wonderful.

I work at our local child support office. What your lawyer is doing is the next appropriate step. Make sure y our attorney puts in the motion to have a wage assignment done, this will have his employer send the money to the central collection unit for child support. Once this is done and you receive an order on the arrears, you should begin to receive payments. If not, then your attny or local child support caseworker can file a motion for contempt. This will show him in contempt of the court order to pay the arrears. I hope this helps. STAY IN CONTACT WITH YOUR CHILD SUPPORT WORKER AND ATTORNEY.
If you have a court order for the dad to pay you can contact your local child enforcement agency and ask them to handle your case. They have a $25.00 application fee and then they will garnish his wages and they can even take his tax return for back child support. Good Luck.
