there is sharky's on 281 and 1604 and there is cool clips on blanco and 1604. both great and made for kids. Sharky's is more expensive.
I'm wanting to get my 3 year old daughter's hair cut this week. It will be her first real cut, rather than just a trim. I want some where that will be super fun and child friendly, but really good at real hair cuts. Any ideas?
We are located in the northcentral to northeast area of San Antonio.
So, it looks nearly unanimous with Sharkey's Cuts for Kids leading. That was exactly what I was looking for. Thank you all so much. I can't see how she could have a bad experience there! Thank you ladies so much!

I prefer Sharkey's to Cool Cuts--it's cleaner, the staff is friendlier and they are always on time. They also have a DVD players with a choice of movie. Sharkey's is located at 281 & Sonterra.
Have you seen Sharkey's Cuts for Kids, behind the Starbucks in that intersection? Legacy shopping center. They are great!
I have two kids ages 5 & 2. I was nervous bringing my two year old but she did great. We love Sharky's. Make an appointment and your wait time is limited. She loved all the special attention that she received and stayed very still while watching a princess movie. I took lots of photos. You can purchase the first time package which includes a photo. The shampoos are great with a lot of fun scents. If your daughter can sit for awhile they will paint her nails too. We haven't tried yet but I think she's ready now. Good luck and enjoy the experience...we did!
The people at Cool Cuts are great, but the cost reflects that that. You would be surprized though, a portable DVD player, her favorite movie, and an experienced, patient, & friendly beautician at great clips can be a miracle. : ) GOOD LUCK!
There are 2 kids salons in our area. At 281 and 1604 there is a place called Sharkies. It is near the Lifetime fitness. At Blanco and 1604 there is a place called Cool Cuts 4 Kids. It is in the Vinyard shopping center. I like Cool Cuts. The kids can choose a movie or video game to play while getting their hair cut and the employees are great with the kids.
I take my boys to Sharky's, they love it. My 2 year old hated to get a hair cut, but now that I take him to Sharky's he has so much fun driving the car while he gets the hair cut, that doesn't even notice what he is getting done.
At 1604 and Blanco in the Vineyards Center to the left of Office Depot is Kidz Cuts (?) I believe that is the name of it. They always do a good job and are very reasonable. They have videos for the kids to watch while their hair is being done. They have car styling cars for little boys and several things for little girls. I know my grandson loves to go there.
Hello W.,
A friend of mine referred me to Sharkey's cuts for kids, it's at 281 and 1604. It was very cute , kid friendly, and my daughter 18 months loved it. Each seat is a fun little vehicle, and they can pick out a dvd to watch while they get their cut, as well as the hairdresser was super nice, and patient with my daughter. You have to check out their party room as well. I live in the Alamo Heights area, and don't like to drive that far, but I will definitly do it again. Too cute.
I took my son Conner t Sharkey's for his first haircut this weekend. Cute place...Lots of fun BUT they were disorganized.
double booked my appt
when i made appt i specifically said it was Conner's first haircut.... they didnt have that down. we asked for the videotaping of his first haircut. they took forever because camcorder wasnt set up. Haircut was nice however Fabbi didnt speak much (dont think English was her strong suit)when we got home the disc didnt record so we will not be able to share his first haircut with grandma who lives out of town.
All said and done I would not go back just because they have a cute motif. Although it looks like a blast you cannot negate the factor of it not being very professionl.
It is called Sharky's Haircuts for Kids 281 and 1604
