We use Bass Wolfson at another location and have finally found a ped we are pleased with (he is our 8th!!).
Good Luck
Thanks to all the ladies who suggested several pediatricians in the Pgh. area. I'd like to know if any one takes her child(ren) to BASS WOLFSON at the Wilkins Building in Squirrel Hill. It's a bit closer for us then going to the Fort Couch Road office. If some one could let me know how you feel about the (twelve) Dr.'s there and if you would recommend them. I think I'm leaning more toward the Monroeville office since there are only three Dr.'s there.

Hi Kim,
We take our almost 2 yr old daughter to Bass Wolfson and have seen several of the doctors including Dr. Breck, Dr. Wolfson, and our primary Dr. Voigt who we really like and has been with us since our daughter's birth. We have only had one semi-negative experience with one of the pediatricians as she was a bit gruff and did not seem to get that our daughter was in the "stranger anxiety" period, but otherwise good experiences and certainly with all the doctors mentioned above. Waiting time can be a bit long sometimes, but generally within normal for a doctor's office. We have always been able to see a doctor if needed on the day we call and they also have a consultation call in time from 8-8:30 a.m. when you can call and talk to a pediatrician about any concerns without having to bring in your child. Hope the information is helpful.
I actually went to the Bass Wolfson practice as a child and the current Dr Wolfson is the son of the one I saw in the 70s and 80s. Dr. Breck was just starting out when I was getting to old to continue with a pediatrician. If Dr Wolfson is half as good as his father I would highly recommend him. I'm sure this doesn't help much, but I couldn't help answering as I really loved my doctor growing up.
Our pediatrician just merged with Bass-Wolfson and I thought the facilities were great. We are still using Dr. Rhomberger who we love!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He has been around long enough to have seen everything. He doesn't get easily alarmed, but also has a good idea of what the current thinking is behind treatments and illnesses. He is also great with our three year old daughter. She loves him and that says a lot given she is not fond of doctors or hospitals since she had pneumonia last year.
The office also has a nice waiting area and lots of things for the kids to do. At the end of an appointment instead of giving the children stickers they let the kids stamp their hand. My daughter thought this was super wonderful! The older kids seemed to like it as well.
Good luck!

We've gone to Arthur Kovel at the Wilkins Bldg. for 11 years (my son is 13 and daughter is 10 1/2). We love him - he's been a wonderful support in difficult times, always accessible, level-headed, and respectful of our children and family. He's great with both children. David Wolfson has seen our children, as well as Jane Breck. They've all been very good - I don't hesitate to recommend this practice. It's easy to navigate, and we haven't had problems getting in to see the doctor that we want. Our children have both been high consumers of health care - juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, a congenital eye problem that's required 2 surgeries, as well as the usual ear infections and broken bones. These folks are terrific.
