Chiropractor Treatment

I'm looking to get started with a chiropractor (maybe). I went to one many years ago but he really put me through it on the very first visit - so much so that I seriously COULD NOT WALK the next day and my whole body was in horrible pain. Since then, I've really shied away from any chiro help.

Now, I have migraines, acid reflux disease and 2 vertebrae fusing in my neck. I'm "stiffer" than I was a year ago and am too tired most days to really do anything outside work and what little I do here at the house and for my business.

Does anyone have any advice on who would be a good chiropractor in the Highway 5/Chastain Road area? Also, what specific things should I look for in a GREAT chiropractor?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Well, no chiro. I decided I needed to get to the root cause of what is happening in my neck and shoulders. After getting really nothing from my doctor in the way of treatment, I went to an orthopedic surgeon who confirmed the diagnosis that my doctor had made but added some things that I didn't know. My spine in my neck doesn't curve - it stays straight up and down. This causes the muscles to severely spasm, blood flow to be a bit inhibited and migraines. I'm scheduling and MRI as well as physical therapy and am on an aggressive steroid pack to bring down the swelling.

Thank you all so very much for all the help and advice. I really love this site!!!

We LOVE our chiropractors. Our son also suffered from migraines and I always had horrible PMS, cramps, headaches..everything!
We started going to the Chiropractor about a year ago and it has greatly improved the health of our whole family. We haven't had the need for our GP Dr. since!
Our Chiropractor is located on Main Street in Acworth.

If this is too far of a drive for you, call them and ask for recommendations for a chiropractor near you.

I was referred to Atlanta Spinal which is located in Alpharetta when I needed to turn my baby who was not in a good position for labor. Since then I have been hooked.
Dr. Sean McWilliams is well worth the drive however I am sure this might not work well for you since you do live in the Kennesaw area.

Let me ask him for a referral of who he would recommend and check back with you.

On what to look for, I would look at his client referrals. I would ask to speak to former and current clients.

Hi S.!! I am so sorry to hear you aren't feeling well and having so much pain. I don't have a chiro that I go to but I have taken my erb's palsy child to one when he got whiplash last year that I liked very well and trust me I wasn't easy on him, the hospital was no help to my son but he was his such pain I took him and had faith but like I said I was hard on him and asked him any and every question before I let him touch my son. He was great he helped him and now I trust him but he's over here on Due west rd and Dallas hwy area. I had a few disc that went out a few years ago and I too couldn't hardly walk I was lucky and had a treatment with injections into the disc that made them shrink I haven't had pain since and I was in pain before they finally went for about 20 years had chiro treatments, injections into the vertibrae all kinds of stuff but when it happened I went to a chiro that couldn't adjust me because of the pain and he sent me to Dr. Grasso who saved me from the pain...look up www.lowbackpain.com give them a call I bet they can help you. I met a man that had a rod in his back and he was getting help from them he told me his story in the waiting room and I gave Dr. Grasso a chance and I'm glad I stayed. Let me know how you are doing dear soul you have always given me understanding and advise I hope I can help you. Oh and the Chiro we went to was A&W chiro website is www.adjustmyfamily.com

Hi S.!
I'm sure you may have found a chiro already, but just in case, you are still "interviewing" I have a great Chiropractor who has been caring for my entire family for over 10 years now. He is a young Christian with a wealth of knowledge in the area of Chiro Care, Sports Therapy, & Nutrition. Yes, there are different types of techniques Chiropractors have to offer (just like doctors have a speciality) you just need to find one that fits well with your needs. Although, he is in Marietta of Delk Rd, Dr. Lino/Southern Healthcare Associates is worth the drive! I drive from Hiram once or twice a week to see him. He has been adjusting all of my children since they were 6 weeks old. Good Luck!

The reason for my response is that I work for a Chiropractor. I have seen several in the past and even worked for another. However.... no two Chiropractors are the same. The one I work for is a Christian. He explains everything in detail so that it is easy to understand. If you are not comfortable with something or are in too much pain. He will listen. The consult is free. If you need info let me know. Hope you feel better soon and hope we can help.
