it appears that mamapedia is getting advertising monies....to help keep the site alive....
there has been A TON of advertisements lately - and I've not clicked on any one of them.
I never clicked it because I suspect it is a scam and we have an IPAD. It was in all red letters in the place where the ad for fall on mamasource is usually.
So the virus is on mamapedia, not my computer, unless I click it. Do I understand how this works?

The only things you'd win are nasty viruses, or compromised personal information!!
I just saw it a couple of minutes ago. Didn't click on it. Not taking any chances getting a virus. Was a bit surprised to see it on here though.
Yes--I saw that yesterday.
I ignored it too....usually it's a scammy type thing that if you join something or fill out a 20 minute survey you get entered into a CHANCE to win the thing....
I never click any links. So many of them now are just spyware and virus... you just never know.
And.......nothing is "free", especially something like IPAD's, electronics, etc
Don't click! Best case scenario you'll have to fill out your personal information and apply for 20 different credit cards in order to get it.
Nothing is free! Ever!
So they say a sucker is born every minute, well i'm the sucker of the minute! It's some type of add on charged to your phone - something like $9.95/month. And I bet you that's what slowed our computer down, please don't tell my DH, he still thinks it's my little one's Club Penguin!!!!
I looked it up on line and it is a scam to get you to sign up for all these other products. 9 times out of 10 there is a small print that you have to complete one thing or another and that is their out that you don't get the IPad because you missed this one step that is buried in the fine print.
The company behind these ads has been in trouble before for offering free IPod's when they were the new hot thing on the market.
Yes, I saw it too. I never trust stuff like that. Too many risks!
.
I used to click on the mampidia ads but ever since they transferred over to google ads... No. I hate google ads. Right now all the ads are for sittercity.
I'm sure it's one of those things were you have to go through about 20 pages of goo gah answering questions and signing up for magazines and stuff like that. They are a HUGE pain to me. :)
I saw it too about an hour ago, but it's not there anymore.
I've been getting numerous "free ipad" ads in my e-mail acct. Like 2 or 3/day. I suspect that there is a catch. I agree, if it's too good it's too good to be true.
