Christian Music Gurus-

Man! There's always that one mom who you just wanna say "LIGHTEN UP!".

Anyway, try music from True Vibe (my favorite song is See The Light, and the lyrics are amazing for inspiring kids), Newsboys, Phil Wickham and of course Mandesa! They all have some great upbeat songs that are Godly and inspirational.

I just realized True Vibe has another song "More" that might be inspirational, depending on how you look at life.

Also, take a look at some Wow! tracks in iTunes. They might have an "upbeat" or "dance" collection, or maybe even a "graduation" collection.

We have a great Christian music radio station here in Houston - KSBJ. You can listen to it on the web, but if you check out their website they have a playlist of all the songs they've played in the last 24 hrs (I think) but anyway, its a pretty comprehensive list of popular Christian music today.

I don't agree with the previous poster. Try listening to Air 1 (FM 92.7 in Orange county) for really good contemporary Christian music. Their website also has a spot where you can look at lyrics from their "top hits" list. A lot of the music on Air1 is good to listen to. It's upbeat, but with thoughtful lyrics, but positive. Lately, my kids can't get enough of anything by Newboys, For King & Country, Toby Mac, Switchfoot.
I should note - my kids are 3 and 7, and our K-8 school plays a lot of this, so it seems pretty acceptable theme-wise. Hope you find what you need!

The Go Fish Guys are awesome!!

Check out Kids of the Kingdom (that's the album name) by Annie Herring. It's pretty old, but Ho-Ho-Ho-Hosanna, and the title song and several other songs on that album would be great for a celebration of the end of the school year. Also Veggie Tales "I can be your friend".

Check out Justin Roberts and the Not Ready for Naptime Players. I've seen them live many times and their music is very good. They have performed both at our Methodist church and at an elementary school fair. Christian friendly (some songs are based on bible stories, but many just about being a kid), but not heavily religious, and very catchy for parents.

My kids went to a Vacation Bible School with music done by The Go Fish Guys, and I was really impressed. The songs were a lot of fun, and they had unique messages.

I've helped with VBS many times, and my kids go to 2 or 3 every summer. So often the music is fun, but the message isn't too much beyond, God is awesome. I agree, God is awesome, but I did like the fact that The Go Fish Guys really taught the kids a lot through their music.

Definitely Go Fish!!! I knew one of the founding members of the group and have followed them from the beginning. My kids love their music!! I love their music!

A lot of the Veggie Tales music is fun, too. Our church has used Vacation Bible School materials published by Group. They have great music. Very fun songs based on scripture and even some older hymns that have been jazzed up a little. Last year's theme was Kingdom Rocks. We have also done Sky and Pandemania. I think you can also find Wow for Kids music.
