Would young children enjoy the show? How long is the program? And would you recommend seeing while they are running in Frisco.

I've been to two CIrque shows. The first one years ago was Quidam. It was very adult, darker and slower paced. I don't recall any children and I think it would not be enjoyed by kids. Last month I went to Frisco to see OVO. The entire time I kept thinking how much my five year old would have loved it (I think my two year old would have liked it too, but she's bit young to sit still for that long. :) ). It had a bug theme. Very cool performances, fast paced , fun costumes. The deeper parts of the theme of the show would have been over his head, he would have understood the general story. There were many children at that performance and they all seemed to enjoy it. So I suppose it really depends on which show you are considering.

I think that, while they would find the show interesting, it is too long for them to sit still.

Frisco, Texas..
I think children in 5th grade would enjoy it, but younger than that, not sure they would really get it..
Like Toni said.. It is pretty expensive..

I agree it's more adult friendly. Very formal and fancy. Sometimes provocative. But it is an amazing show for adults.

Do you mean San Francisco, CA?

Cirque is more for adults. It's expensive and I would say someone over 12 would appreciate it more.

If you are planning a trip to Northern California, there are other places that young children would enjoy more. San Francisco Zoo, Monterey Bay Aquarium, several museums, botanical gardens w/rides in the Gilroy area, Great America, Santa Clara....and much more.

Have a good trip.

Blessings...

We have taken my daughter to shows since she was two. She has enjoyed all of them except the Lion King, because it scared her.

I took my boys (then ages 4 and 2) to a cirque show in Vegas (I think it was Mystere) and they absolutely loved it. They were amazed with the entire show from the mid act clowns to all the acrobatics. It was pretty late at night and my 2 year old was fighting to keep his eyes open, but he managed because he didn't want to miss it.

As long as it's a normal Cirque show (focusing on acrobatics, contortionists, balancing, etc) then I think they would enjoy it. The more adult shows (Zumanity, Quidam) they wouldn't like.

My kids have been seeing Cirque shows since they were 4...and LOVE THEM! I wouldn't think twice about taking them again and again.

I took my son to see Ka when he was 2.5. He loved it. He was riveted the whole time. But he's also able to sit and watch a whole movie in one sitting. I thought he might be scared during some of the parts when the whole tent went dark but he was sitting in my lap and was fine. He's now 3.5 and we're taking him to see Quidam next month.

When my daughter was young, it kind of freaked her out.

Hi K.
I wouldn't recommend it for small children, more closer to teenage years would be ok.
I think they might get a bit overwhelmed and frightened by some of the content.
