Hi Ladies. I am looking for someone that does a nice job on foil highlights in the South Elgin/Saint Charles area. I have lots of long hair and as yet have only been to one place that didn't do a very good job, which is frustrating after you have sat there for the best part of 4 hours. Price is a major factor too as because i have lots of hair the price tends to creep up to the $200 mark and i could well do without that. What would be really great is if i could find someone that comes out to the house. Any ideas??? I need to get back to the "natural" blond asap X

hi. I currently use a hair colorist that works on hair cutlery but she does my hair in her house, on Huntley. she is very good and her prices are reasonables. I'm not sure if she would travel to your house so if you want to call, her name is Anna ###-###-####.

When I moved to the area three years ago I was having a hard time finding a good colorist. The problem was that most salons use Redken color because it's cheap and my highlights and color never came out pale yellow blond and looked more brassy with Redken. My sister is a hairdresser (in NJ) and told be to find a salon that uses Swarzkopf color because it's a superior brand.

I would recommend Essence Salon in Dundee. They are very reasonable. I have shoulder length hair and a touch up cost me $35. When I got highlights I chose the cap method because of time constraint (you also have a choice of foils at Essence but it cost more) and with a toner it cost $85.

Good luck.

I'd highly recommend Salon 440. She's a good friend of mine and does an excellent job with mine. Her salon is in St. Charles on Prairie Street, and she lives in S Elgin. I think her prices are better than a "name brand" salon. Check her out. I recommended her once before to someone on MamaSource, and they were thrilled; hope you can be too!

Hi K.,
My husband and I own a hair salon in South Elgin, www.JamesTricociSalon.com We are a specialty salon....what that means is that two diffrendt people would cut and color your hair. All technicians go through a apprentice training lasting up to a year. They do hundreads of classes and hands on models before serving our clients. So they are so experienced when they begin building there own clients. program trained by James whom has been in the industry over 25 years.... He has trained thru out Europe and the United States. He previously co-owned MT in Geneva that is now no longer Tricoci owned it is owned my Bank investers. The corporate end cared about $$$$ and quantity rather than James's moto of QUALITY! We do offer complimentary consultations too. Price range according to what you need. They do everything from single foils to partial hightlights begin at $65 full highlights begin at $80.....the price ranges according to how much product and time to do your hair is. not sure how dark your hair is but they could also do a color remover.? We use a color line from Italy that is vegtable based...it actually improves the hair instead of damaging it. Best of luck to you!!! ###-###-#### Ruta is who colors my hair! She is great!!! D.
