we're looking into buying a new home and are trying to decide btwn a few areas. I work in SF and my husband in Brentwood. Clayton is one possibility but wondering what the commute time to BART (Pleasant Hill) would look like. Does anyone make that drive?

What can I do next?

I don't know, but if you switch to Bart Concord, you could avoid driving down both Ygnacio Valley Rd and Treat, both commute nightmares.

I have never lived out there, but every time I am out that way I think "this would be a great place the live if it weren't so far out here!" :) I think it would take 25-30 minutes just to get to a BART station, and then you have the ride on BART. I guess it totally depends on how much time you are willing to spend on the commute, but to me that sounds like too much! Good luck!

Takes me abuot 20-25 minutes, leaving at 7:00, to drive by Pleasant Hill Bart, taking Clayton Rd to Treat. Concord Bart would be quicker, but there never seems to be any parking in that complex after 6:30-6:45, unless you rent a spot. Never have a problem parking at Pleasant Hill Bart.

Good Morning!

I have been doing the Clayton to WC communte for 5 years now...I have been going down Clayton Rd to 242 (which passes Concord bart along the way)...much much quicker than the YV or Treat route. Try to avoid Concord Blvd as well...esp. at 7:30am and 3pm because of the High school, jr. high school and elementary school on West traffic. If I were you, I'd go to Concord bart before PH or WC bart.

If you are going during regular commute hours, it will be about 30 minutes, maybe more.Ignacio Valley Road is very busy and there are a lot of stop lights as you get over the hill and into the Walnut Creek area. There is a Concord Bart Station that might be a lot faster for you, it's down off Clayton Road. You would get off Ignacio at Cowell Road and head west until you come to the stoplight where the Bart track crosses, make a right hand turn and go a couple blocks and a quick right, then left and the Bart Station is there on the left. That would be alot faster than trying to get to Pleasant Hill Bart.

I agree on the commute nightmare on Ygnacio and Treat! If there is some backroad that your husband takes to Brentwood, maybe that would be fine, but you need to look into alternate routes for your commute to Bart. Which station would work best for you while avoiding Ygnacio or Treat.
