Someone PLEASE teach me how to "extreme coupon!" I don't understand where people get all of these coupons! There are so many sites I don't know which are real and which are a scam... I saw a chick doing it at Albertsons last night and she got 15 bags of chips for free and mentioned that she had a stock of 40 cereals at home! I know they say to match a sale with a store coupon and a manu coupon but where do you get them? I swear I keep trying but can never find the really good or free deals!

What can I do next?

A couple of the originals run a site www.weusecoupons.com, the person that started it is Nathan (he has been on the show twice, he was on the first one that was an hour long and then he did the big trip for the troops overseas). He has a set up of intro how to do it and such, and from there you can probably find a local person who shows what kind of deals there are for the week and such.

sunday paper (i buy 3 every week), smartsource.com, redplum.com, couponmom.com. yes you do have to stack coupons (via sale item, in store coupon, and manu. coupon). it takes like 6 months to fully learn how to properly coupon like this and i am still learning.

You can find the 'Al Dia' newspaper stands (like greensheet) and those have the coupon inserts from the Sunday newspaper. Women get there really early and grab all of them so they can have all of the coupons, which is dishonest if you ask me.

I have seen the TV shows on extreme couponing. I have done some myself. If you keep track of all the time you spend getting the coupons, filing them, cutting them out and buying stuff you don't need (like the single man that bragged about the 120 boxes of maxipads in his closet), I found I'd be ahead if I found a part time job and spent the money on groceries I made at my part time job.

That being said, if youwant more sunday incerts, call your paperboy and ask if you can buy any extra from him. If you pay him 10 cents to 25 cents per incert, you will probably get all you can stand.

People that extreme coupon are like the golfers that play in the falling snow with an orange ball, or the hunter that has 25 mounted deer heads with "impressive" racks hanging on his walls, or the shot glass collector that has one wall of his livingroom lined with row on row of his 3000 shot glass collection. Some things can be carried to the extremes. The extreme couponer that had 4000 tubes of toothpaste weighing over 800 lbs because they were "free" or had 300 boxes of grapenuts cereal on shelves and doesn't like grape nuts cereal is taking it to the extremes.

Good luck to you and yours.

Hip2save.com and passionforsavings.com are two of my favorite sites. I also love the krazykouponwoman.com. I think I spelled that right.

Target has great printable coupons and there seems to be no limit to how many you can print or if there is I haven't hit it yet. I combine them with manufacturer coupons and get amazing deals. I have learned to not use them right away. Everyone is trying to use the weekly coupons that week, but they don't expire for weeks and sometimes months. I have learned to be patient and just keep a close eye out on the sites I mentioned above and watch for the prices to drop and the deals to come.

Walgreens has great printable coupons that you can combine with manufacturers coupons as well as Walmart and Whole Foods.

Ohhh and Pathmark (don't know if you have this store in CA) offers TRIPLE coupons up to $1 every Saturday and Sunday. They will triple any coupon up to $1 even if the coupon states "Do Not Triple or Double". You can only use up to 10 manufacturer coupons per day though. I get amazing savings this way plus free stuff like Pantene, Mr. Clean, Febreeze......

I am really lucky that I live in a NYC apartment building. I don't ever have to buy the Sunday paper for coupons. Every Friday a HUGE bag of circulars and coupon books like Redplum, Smartsource, P&G, get placed in our lobby. As far as I know, only one other tenant takes them. The bag is full all week, plus we have a connecting building and they receive a huge bag as well. That is where I get multiple coupons. I just bring up as many bags of circulars and coupons that I can.

I really don't use coupons for food items. When I do it is for things like Truvia, which I get at Pathmark with a tripled coupon and get a box of 44 for $0.99. I have tons of Truvia coupons.

Sign up for store cards that when swiped make sure you get the lowest store price. Stop and Shop, CVS, Rite-aid, Walgreens.......

I could go on and on, but you really should check out the sites I mentioned. I found hip2save through a recommendation made here on Mamapedia. The other sites I have found I Googled. "coupon sites"

Good luck. Have fun. It is quite addictive. Especially when you buy $55 worth of goods for $19.26!!! LOL. I'm clearly not as extreme as those people on the show.

I order 2 different Sunday papers. Hip2save is a great website to learn how to stack coupons. She also has some videos that might help you. I use coupon.com, redplum.com, and smartsource.com. Plus Target and Whole Foods. My daughter just came home from college and was out of everything. All I had to do was go downstairs and she now was restocked without me having to spend an arm and a leg. I love coupons!
