My son is 2.5 months old he has been a wonderful baby until about 1 week ago. Now he has become very fussy sometimes he is fine and other times nothing seems to work. he has started to drool alot and chew on his fist. he used to take at least 2 good naps a day, and now he never wants to sleep. I am a first time new mom and just need a little help or advise. thanks to anyone who can lend some experience.

What can I do next?

Drooling and chewing usually means teeth. Gums can get sore long before teeth pop through. Try Oragel or something similar and see if it helps. May also be reflux. You can see if he'll sleep in his carseat or swing to keep him more upright. Good luck.

There are "wonder weeks." During these developmental periods, they get really cranky, stop sleeping/eating, etc. I highly recommend schooling yourself on these periods, as by knowing when they are, you will worry a lot less.

Major one's include: 5, 8, 12, 19, 26.

whenever that happened with my daughter it was either an ear infection, a new tooth, or both. I called the ped one time with "my baby is cranky" they were all "ma'am, babies get cranky" but I insisted on coming in and it was a double ear infection. You know your baby. If you think it might be something, call the doctor.

Teething! A teething ring which you've placed in the freezer is a good comfort. You should also speak to your pharmacist about a teething gel suitable for a baby as young as yours. Good luck!

Sounds like early teething. My DD started teething at 3 months and got her 1st tooth at 4.5 months. She drooled alot, etc. too. Try to give him some hylands teething tablets before he eats and when he's cranky. If all else fails, you can give him a bit of infants tylenol to help him sleep.

I would say he could be teething. I thought this with one of my four boys and was told "oh no, too young, congratulations your child can get his fist to his mouth". A week later at 3 months old on the plane from New Zealand to Austria my darling boys cut 3 teeth. My last two boys both cut teeth very early and now have beautiful full sets of teeth well before they are two.
There may be other reasons so if it continues with no sign of teeth get him checked by the GP.
Good luck, welcome to the sleepless nights and worry of Motherhood. It is all worth it. Smile and cherish each moment, good or bad, tiring or not.

It sounds like he might be teething already. You might ask your doctor if you can give him Baby Orajel or someting like that for teething, so that he can nap. And, maybe try a teething ring for him to gnaw on.
Good luck!
