We are having my sons 6th birthday party at a pizza place in town. I would like to make him a pizza cookie instead of a cake. I need ideas of what to use as decorations. I thought about red fruit rolls ups cut in circles for pepperoni, red icing for tomato sauce and just a few others. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

So here is my first attempt. It needs some work! The pizza sauce should have more red color, but my problem is my pepperoni not showing up. Let me know what you think!

My only suggestion would be to add a bit of yellow food coloring to the red icing so that you have more of an orange color like pizza sauce. I like the idea one person had about using a white chocolate bar and grating it for the cheese, sounds better than the coconut.

If you know the kids like coconut you could use that for cheese or you can take a white chocolate bar and take a veggie peeler to it to make chocolate curls for the cheese.

Maybe you could get some bubbletape and cut in into strips for little pieces of ham. And, I cant remember what the exact name is, but there are these candy things (they would be by the fruit roll ups in the store) and they have like liquid candy inside and they are green, like olives. I think they are called squirts or something. If you got circus peanuts you could cut them up into strips and that could be cheese, but that may be difficult :) Thats all I can think of! Hope that helps

Hi ! Go on Wilton.com and go under the discussion forums and do a search for "pizza cakes" there have been several on there lately that are really cute! I make children's b-day cakes, but I've never done this one.....If you want to post your email address I'll try and find the pics for you.

PS - I just went on Wilton.com to navigate this out for you. on the left side of the home page, click on "discussion forum", then click on "life celebrations" once it opens up life celebrations you'll see an area for "advanced search" in the advanced search area type in "pizza" and it brought up several pictures and the instructions on how they made them..... Hope this helps!!

dried pineapple? some people like pineapple on their pizza and the dried kind is really sweet.
Gummy bears? m&m's?

My son is currently into trains- so for our quiet home party we just got an icecream cake and I bought a little train to stick on top- he got to play with it after...

I was also going to suggest cocoanut for cheese... :P

well fot the cheese you can use a bar or baking white choclate and get a potato peeler and it looks like motzerella cheese. you could also get the orange/lime/lemon slice candies and cut them into small pieces and they can be the bell peppers. and they also have the sweedish fish that you could act like is anchovies. hope it turns out great!!!!

just a couple thoughts..... you might want to try using the red spray icing for the pizza sauce. you could cover the entire bottom of the cookie and put the toppings over it. also, if he likes coconut you could use it as the cheese.

I think your pizza-cake-cookie its a great idea. I think something else you could use is shreded coconut as cheese, and some green sparckles as oregano. You can wrap it in a real pizza box and write on it Happy B´day!!
Hopefully this is going to be helpfull for you. Good luck and let me know how was the party.

Hey, I would maybe use black jelly beans like black olives. Or, green fruit roll-up strips as green peppers. If I come up with any more, I will let you know. :)
