It is exciting to be accepted. What was your plan before you got accpeted? Did you just think the funds would appear?

Go to the financial counselors to get advice on funding, scholarships. Fundraising for personal gain is not one a lot of people will do with no proven tax benefit.

Hopefully you started a savings fund before this teen was a teen to prepare for this exciting move. Maybe your teen can work for the school on a work study program to offset some fees.

Good luck and best wishes.

It is often hard to do "fundraising" for tuition...usually it needs to be for non-profit groups or organizations. You could do 50/50 raffles, organize a dinner(s), have your teen go around your neighborhood performing odd jobs.

Outside of that, you should also check with the admissions department at the school to see what options you have.

I have been doing fundraisers for the last 8 months raising money for my son...We have done a golf tournament and we are diong another one next month and that seemed to bring in quite a bit..we are doing a charity poker tournament next week and I am expecting that to be pretty sucessful...we talked to my kids school and the teachers did a couple fundraisers...we got the local pizza place to donate a percentage of the proceeds for an entire day...Good Luck

Your daughter was accepted into a good high school, congrats. Now you need help with the tuition? Time to talk to the admissions person at the school....they offer scholarships, reduced tuition, access to loans, etc. You could also write a letter to your extended family asking them to help with the tuition. My husbands aunt owns a deli shop and she used to do sub fundraisers for the kids in their high school. Maybe you can find a local sub shop and see if they are willing to help out.

Good luck and Congratulations to your teenager!
