my son did have a hard time with this last year. it took a few weeks for his body to transition. good luck!
Do I need to do any special preparation for the upcoming clock change on November 4th? I don't want my 8 month old baby to wake up at 5:00/5:30 in the morning until the clocks go forward in the spring.
Moms who have been through this with other infants before - what were your experiences?

i have two kids i have never had a problem and i did not do anything. and even if you do have issues i would think after a week time they will be back to normal just like adults.just keep shades down with night light.
Why not just put the baby to bed at a different time to offset the time he wakes up?
Putting your child to bed at a different time won't really make a difference in what time they wake up. I haven't had any issues with my daughter, but even if there is a slight change in wake/sleep time, babies will go back to "normal" sleeping habits within a few days.
You can try to adjust your baby's schedule, but honestly, it's just a matter of time before they settle back into normalcy. Their bodies tell the time, not the clock, so you might just have to be a little "off" for a few days.
It has always been my experience, and every 6 months we would travel between Dayton and Iceland, to put yourself and baby on the new time as soon as possible. It's just a much easier transition. It'll still take some adjustment, as they always do!
You can try to adjust their circadian clock a little a at a time. Our minds respond to the amount of light we take in. That's why with Seasonal Affective Disorder, they recommend light therapy to thwart depression because of the lack of light in the winter. Try having the child in a dark room to sleep now, and when you want the baby to wake up, turn on the lights. Adjust the time you do this slowly every few days until you match up to the target time you are looking for when the time changes. Good Luck!
