Hi, ladies! Has anyone ever tried Debrox or Murine earwax removal kits? How about those candles I have heard about that also remove wax?

Thanks!

my family has used both....but it seems that we still end up at the drs office! The OTC products loosen the wax, but doesn't always manage to eliminate it.

I've used Debrox on my daughters ears for the last 6 months. We just use a few drops 1-2 times a week. She just makes a lot of ear wax and every time we go to the doctors, they have to either dig out the wax or have to lavage her ears. She's had no problems at all with the drops. It's just seems kinda oily. Good Luck!

We have used the candles on my husband. Amazing! You'd have to be really, really, really careful using ear candles on a child--fire is involved.

My mom & grandmother used to swear by warm sweet oil.

We have been using Debrox for about 2 years for my oldest son. It has always worked great for us.

Debrox irritated my son's ears and we ended up at the Doc's office for a prescription.
Now after a warm shower he comes to me and I swab with a Q tip.
Frequent showering has helped my guy. He is now 10.

Ear wax issues seem to run in my family. Here is the home remedy I use when my ear gets plugged. Warm up a small amount of olive oil and drip it into the plugged ear. Lay down with the opposite ear down for about 15 minutes. Do this twice a day for 2 or 3 days. Then use a bulb syringe with very warm water to flush out the ear. First small pieces of wax will flush out, but you will likely get one large glob of wax and suddenly you can hear again! This works every time. The oil obviously softens up the wax so that it can wash out.
