I don't consider a child who has 2-3 accidents daily trained. Do you?

What can I do next?

I also do not consider a child with a parent who is constantly having to ask a child to go to the potty, or ask them if they need to go to the potty, Fully potty trained either.. Not a negative thing.. just explains the degree..

"Mostly Potty trained" is more like it.. It Makes a huge difference..

Especially for children going to kindergarten and visits to the doctor.. .. Being able to be honest with the school and doctor about the actual degree of potty training is important..

not if it has been more than a week or so since they were "trained" and it happens everyday. My definition of trained=a child that either tells you when they need to go or just goes on their own, takes down their own pants, gets on the potty, does their business, gets dressed, washes hands, and flushes. Night and Day. No pullups. Less then this and it is M. and dad who are trained, not the kid. Some accidents may happen, but honestly it is not everyday. Kids that are having accidents that much, I would put money on the fact that the parents have or are still using pullups. Anytime you here a parent talk about pullups, they talk about training lasting for weeks and months, lots of accidents. They are a ripoff!

No, definitely not trained. Perhaps the child has the parents 'trained' to deal with it?

Matters when those accidents are and how much. If the 1st few drops are all that leak out 2/3 times daily, then yea, potty trained, whole bladder being released... not potty trained. Also if the accidents happen at nap time or during sleep, the child could be fully trained while awake but not while sleeping in which case you need him/her to go potty right before nap/sleeping.

If a child is having that many accidents then he or she does not fully understand or does not have fulll control of his/her bladder yet; that is not potty trained. I consider my daughter potty trained, she has maybe an accident a month and that comes when she waits too long to make her way to the bathroom because she does not want to stop playing with her toys!

Nope. That's "potty train-ING".

Now, a potty trained kid can have 2-3 accidents IN a day with the rest of the week/month being clear, especially when there's a major change in routine or if they're sick. But if it's 2-3 accidents a day, every day, there's still an ING at the end of the word, not an ED.

No. My daughter is potty trained.
I didn't consider her potty trained until
There were no accidents day or night.

Nopers. I consider a child potty trained when they use the toilet independently without constant reminders. Of course I tell my 3 year old to use the potty before we leave the house to go somewhere but otherwise she just uses it when she needs to without prompting from me. When I was telling her to sit on the toilet every two hours or so I did not consider her potty trained.

No. Maybe 1 accident a month, but not 2-3 a day!
