Digital Picture Frames - on 24/7? - Columbia,SC

So we got a digital picture frame for a wedding gift.. Used it a couple times - once at the reception and a few times when we've had parties at our house.

We moved into our new house last month, and today in "Adventures in Unpacking On Purpose", we came across said digital picture frame.

Which has brought Mrs. On Purpose and myself to ask the experts - Do you leave your digital picture frame on 24/7, or even most days - - or do you only turn it on when you have company?

What can I do next?

I have mine at work and it is on 24/7. After all ain't my electricity. :p

I think if I had it at home I would turn it off and just have it on for company. Thing is I think the same reason I have it on all the time at work would come into play, if I turn it off I forget to turn it on. So people would be coming to my home admiring my lovely framed turned off monitor. :(

My stepmom keeps hers on 24/7 at home and the one at work.. Her daughter died a few years ago and so she likes being able to walk by it or see it any time she looks up..

You could put it on a timer, so it does not run at night.

It depends.
The one I have in my mom's bedroom stays on 24/7 so she can look at photos if she wakes up in the night.
The one I have on my desk that is filled with weight loss exercise motivation photos is only on while I am working at my desk (all day).
I would think you would have to make a choice. Say the frame only lasts 1 year of being on 24/7. Do you want to own a working frame for 2 years at 12 hours a day, or 1 year being turned on even while you sleep?

Hmm.. we received one as a gift about 2 years ago. It is still in the box, unopened. Does that help?

FWIW, if I want a rotating photo show, I just set my screen saver to slide show and watch every picture contained in my iPhoto library. And the screen is a lot bigger than the picture frame still sitting in the box. :)

Have mine on most the time since i'm adding to it weekly.I do turn it off here and there.Would love to get another one for my bedroom. It has been a saver for me since I don't always print off pictures and if I do I don't like to always put them up unless they are perfect

Sadly mine is still in the box unopened and sitting in my closet. I figured I would set it up when we moved here to Florida (almost 2 years ago) and have never gotten around to it.

I think I may open it and let my daughter and step daughter put their pictures on it. I think they will get more enjoyment out of it.

I left mine on 24/7 and it only lasted a little over a year.
