Does Anyone LOVE Their Pediatrician?

We have been to our new ped. 3 times now - 2 well visits for my almost 7 month old and 1 allergy visit for my almost 4 year old. Anyway, she is nice, seems to know what she is talking about and ok with the kids but all 3 visits she has been called out of the room for a phone call or because they got test results back on someone else. Anyway, you have to schedule the well visits way in advance, there isn't a separate well area from the sick kids and when I tried to make the appointment for the allergies I had to wait and call back the next day because unless you are making a well visit you have to be seen the day you call! That could be really good if the child was sick and needed to be seen but I would have liked to plan the visit since it wasn't that big of a deal! Anyway, I'd also like (while I'm being picky) to just have one or two doctors in the office so that there isn't soooo much going on and so many sick kids around. Also, this office makes well visits every hour which could be good on a tight schedule but we aren't and I prefer the well visits to be bunched together say in the morning first thing or just after lunch so that once again you aren't right beside a kid with the flu or something! Ok, let me know who you LOVE - I'm just off of 377 between Basswood and North Tarrent! I'm willing to drive 30 minutes to have someone really great see my boys!! Thanks so much!
S.

I LOVE my ped. I go to Cook Childrens at 1006 Keller Parkway, Ste. 103 (it's in the shopping center off of keller pkwy and rufe snow next to tom thumb). There are several doctors in that office, they have always been really attentive, I am able to schedule checkups for both of my kids in the same visit, and Dr.Mangham is THE BEST ped. I have ever been to. Even on my most hectic days she takes the time to let me know that I am doing a great job with the kids.

Hi, we use Dr. Sampson in the Mansfield Pediatrics office. She is located on Cooper St. about 1 mile north of Hwy. 287. She is great. She listens to your questions and concerns, and she rarely leaves you waiting in the room for long before she comes in, and I have never had her leave the room until after she was done looking at my kids. I also like the fact that there is only one other doctor at that practice, so I don't feel like a number waiting to be called. However, there isn't a seperate room for well kids and sick kids, but if this is a real concern for you, ask about bringing you child in through the exit. They let me do that when my youngest was really young and susceptible to germs. Can't hurt to ask.

Best wishes,
D.

Dr. Knapp and Dr. Nichols in Southlake off 1709. Everyone on my entire cul de sac excluding one family used to go to them (most everyone has moved in the last 3 years) ... but I love Dr. Knapp. I e-mail him questions all the time, he responds back. He has a website full of information that I go to frequently. His nurses always call me back when I have questions too. I've never had problems scheduling appointments and while he doesn't just sit and piddle... I always have felt my appointments were very thorough. They don't have a separate sick/well child area though.... but I've never had a problem as most places I've been didn't either... so here is his website if you're interestd.

He's actually a great guy, has a good sense of humor, is very current with new advances in medicine and really enjoys what he does.
