Does anyone know of a good place to donate "gently" used stuffed animals? My children are getting older and we have TONS of animals that I am having trouble parting with and would like them to go to a good home. If anyone can help me, I would be very grateful.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you ladies for all your suggestions. I got in touch with a children's advocacy center and we are setting up and time to deliver the stuffed animals to the children that need them. I truely appreciate all your wonderful ideas:)

If they can be washed, you'll want to put them through the washer and dryer first, (a large lingerie bag is GREAT). Lots of pediatric faciliites OTHER than a regular doctor's office (b/c of the germ factor) might appreciate them, espcially if you let them know that you washed them yourself just prior to donating them. I know that my husband visited an orthopedist who had several in with the toys in his waiting area. I wasn't nearly as concerned about my son playing with them, b/c it wasn't a "regular" doc's office where kids go for illness, but rather a bone specialist. Just a thought.

Hi B.!

The Lancaster Salvation Army takes them...they have a state approved disinfection license so they can sell furniture and other cloth goods. I'm thinking every Salvation Army might have them...

Hi,
Look for a local women's shelter. I donate a lot of items to a women's shelter. They will take just about anything. I donate my own clothes, children's clothes, children's toys, household items like curtains, sheets, towels, toilettries, kitchen ware, and even food! You can try by searching for one near you at this website:
www.nca-online.org (it's the site for the National Children's Alliance)

What about ebay or craig's list. You can add pictures and decide who you want to sell them or give them to. A church daycare/nursery would be able to use them. And pet shelters take animals for kittens and puppies to snuggle with when they are away from their mommies.
