Hi Ladies! Has anyone bought meat from a company called Coast to coast Food Distributors? My husband just bought some, and I'm wondering if it's any good. It seems strange to me to sell meat this way. Thanks!

Um, no. Ick. They have so many complaints at the BBB I'm surprised they're still in business.

ALL door to door meat companies and the ones that sell meat that they ship to you via FedEx or similar is a HUGE waste of money. (Sorry your husband was taken advantage of.)

They brag that they have the highest quality meat and that you get it specially shipped or personally delivered to you, etc. My former boss' wife was rich and he would brag about what good meat it was and how good a deal she got until I did the math for him. He was paying over $32 a pound for hamburger that was made out of "hand fed cows and specially processed for his family." What a joke.

Get a calculator out and find out how much per pound you are paying and If its like the company that knocked on my door, their sirloin steaks are over $40 per pound and their "Grill Master's Special" collection was over $60 per pound for boneless ribeyes and beef tenderloin (what they make filet mignons out of). Both of those steaks sell for less than $6 lb (Ribeyes) and $10 lb (beef tenderloin) when they are on sale here.

Meat (or any food) through the mail or door to door is for the rich with more dollars than sense (opps, "cents").

Good luck to you and yours.

I have a friend whose husband got ripped off by this. That's what it is -a rip off! Buy your meat from a local grocery or natural foods store that grinds its own burgers and actually has a real butcher and can actually tell you where the beef is coming from. You STILL won't pay as much as you would pay these people, and you'll have safe, fresh, tasty beef you can trust!

I think this sounds funny. We have people who go door to door selling meat in our area too. they came by so often it got annoying. (especially since we were vagatarians at the time.) finally I got tiered of it and told the guy "sorry but my mama always told me never to buy meat out of someones truck." they stopped coming by after that lol!

Hi J., Yes I have bought frozen meat and fish from a guy in a van (refridgerated) The quality was good, a little high priced, but you pay for the service. Enjoy! Grandma Mary
