We got my 14yo a set of Bose and they are really nice. We told him they are very expensive (which they were- but we got a great deal on them) and he had to keep track of them. He does.
My kids are asking for Beats by Dr. Dre for Christmas. Most of the reviews I have read about them are not positive...any suggestions on a quality set of over-the-ear headphones for a couple of teenagers that just want to listen to music? Thanks, moms!!
Thanks so much for all of your comments! I just can't spend that much on Beats, and I'm still looking for a good alternative. Checking into Skullcandy or less expensive brands. Trying to keep the price point around $100ish. Wish me luck!

My kids teenagers like Skullcandy.
:)
I'm grateful my kids didn't ask for those yet. However, I have heard nothing but amazing reviews. Not sure where the bad ones are coming from...a lot of my friends with teens have bought them already for them.
My son and I love the Beats headphones. They are awesome! 50 cent the rapper also has quality headphones as well. I wouldnt pay attention to reviews. Both of these headphones are well worth the money.
Dr. Dre's beats are mighty expensive...but work well.
My nephew (the musician in the family) loves his but he is just as happy with SkullCandy still too!?
Don't those things cost $75 or more a pair? I wouldn't spend that on them. Mostly because my kids break every pair of headphones they've ever had. Ear buds last longer at my house... but even those have damage inflicted upon them... I probably wouldn't spend over $20 for earbuds, unless I were in the 1% and had no reason I would care about needing to replace them in a month if I needed to.
But hey, if your kids love them and will take care of them, and that is in the top 3 of their wish-list items.... I could see it.
My child got the beats last year and he loves them. Had one of his senior pics in them!
two of my friends son's have Beats. I've tried them...they sound GREAT!!!
They are TOTALLY expensive...
You want to block out the noise coming OUT of the headphones, right??? then you need find a quality set. Bose is good too....sorry - don't have any "cheap" ones for you...
I have the wireless over the ears and love them!
Just yesterday, I saw them on either QVC or HSN for about $179. Thats a little cheaper than the $199 retail cost. Check these websites. We gave our daughter a pair this yer for her 14th b-day.
my kids have beats and love them. We have had no problems in over a year. However, my FIL has a pair of Bose headphones, and they are very awesome as well!! Good luck.
The Beats are #1 on my 14 yo's Christmas list. I think it's more about the brand as it is anything. She wants "Beats" not just headphones. I found the solo's on sale at Best Buy for $179 (regularly $199). Not much of a savings but every little bit helps. Normally I wouldn't spend that much on headphones but this is mostly all she's getting and what she really wants. I've heard that they sound great!
I have a opair that came with my cell when I upgraded and they are great. i've used them with my iPad and laptop and they are wonderful.
