Does anyone see Dr. Gigi Kroll? I'm looking for a new OB who is affiliated with Hoag and she was recommended on another board. Any thoughts on her?

What can I do next?

Hi There,

I have been going to that practice for 23 years and I had Dr. Kroll for a couple years but I switched to another doctor in the practice because I didn't think she connected well with her patients. I switched to Dr. Rhonda Flora, about 8 years ago and she is so nice and energetic. She is very sympathetic to your aches and pains and watches your pregnancy very closely. I ended up getting preeclampsia in my 37th week and she would make me go to the hospital every time my blood pressure would elevate. After 4 visits to Labor and Delivery, she delivered my first son and made every effort to be there for the delivery. I'm expecting my second baby and I am glad I have Dr. Flora.

Hi K.,

I met Dr Kroll while on bedrest at Hoag Hospital in April 2006. She was in the same practice as my doctor, Dr K. Taylor, who is now retired. Anyway.....she was one of my favorites, along with Dr Rhonda Flora, who is now my doctor. I believe Dr Kroll is no longer with the same practice. A good friend of mine has Dr Kroll as her doctor and really likes her. Hope that helps.

Love her!!! She is awesome! It' just her and another OB/GYN (Amy Van Blaricom, MD) in the office. Her office is in Fashion Island. Highly recommended.

PS- check out the website tinyoranges.com for kid-friendly things around Orange County. It is a blog by a young mom with 2 kids!

When I lived in Newport I had an awesome OB/GYN - her name was Dr. Christina Lee. She's with a bigger group practice that i can't remember the name of - maybe Great Newport OB/GYN? Not sure, but their office is right next door to Hoag and she is affiliated with Hoag.

Hi K.,
Dr. Kroll is presently my ob/gyn. I am 31 weeks along with our first and she came highly recommended by our fertility doctor. She has a pleasant personality and will take time to answer any of your questions during your appointments. The only minus to her office is that you will have a wait to see her. All of my visits with her I have waited at least an hour. Also, you will occasionally have your appointment canceled for emergencies (which has happens frequently). She does have a partner in her office as well as a nurse practitioner, so if you can't see her you can be scheduled with one of the other two.
Overall, my experience has been so-so. I have heard great things about Dr. Rhonda Flora, but from what I understand she also has quite a long waiting time too.
