Can you post for rent signs on a bulletin board at your local grocery store? Church? I have seen stuff like that at our store and church. And how about on facebook, just to notify your friends, since they all have lots of friends too!! good luck!

Just remember where you advertise is where you will get your renters. So be wary of general places where everyone shops.

Also, if you want short term renters then the local colleges are fine, they often move at the end of every semester due to graduation or changing roommates, but if you want families that will stay for a while try places where families hang out.

Are you near a University, Seminary, Private High school, or someplace that has students and professors come from far away? advertise there.

Do Streamwood or the surrounding areas have any community newspapers? Our village does and there is a classifieds section with lots of housing ads. I'd try that. Also, if you are a Facebook user, you could post it amongst your friends and ask them to spread the word if they know of anyone who needs housing.

I second Jane K's idea. Community bulletin boards at supermarkets, convenience stores, etc. are chock full of rentals and people actually do stop and check them out! Maybe try the library as well.

You could try a real estate agent. They usually have a flat fee and advertise on several sites.

Have you considered using a professional management company to help you out with renting it? They have a lot more resources available to them, as far as marketing, and a client pool. They will do thorough checks on possible tenants & make sure you don't get the short end of the stick.
