Earbandit/ Putty Buddies - Useful?

My 3.5 yr old daughter is having tubes placed in her ears due to constant ear infections. She LOVES the water. She will need some kind of earplug to protect her ears. I was looking at purchasing the Putty Buddies silicone earplugs along with the Earbandit headband to further insure they don't come out. Anyone used these? Are they worth it? Are wax earplugs better? Which kind? Thanks everyone.

We used the Earbandit and Putty Buddies. My son was very active in the water, always with his head under water, and lots of jumping/diving into the pool. Even with the head band, those ear plugs fell out. Whenever he got water in his ears he got another infection. Eventually I went to an audiologist and had custom fitted earplugs made for him. They were expensive, but they were covered by our medical plan. If you can get them covered, I would look at having some made. Those ones never fell out.

My husband has problems with his ears. He even underwent an ear surgery to try and fix his hearing loss. All of his problems, according to the specialist, came from years of neglected ear infections as a child.

He uses Pillow Soft Earplugs. It is a silicone piece that you roll out flat and put in your ear. It works on any ears because you form it yourself to fit your ear. It sounds like the putty buddies. He says that they work great. The silicone stays in place until he takes it out. He has used it in pools as well as snorkling in the ocean. Hope this helps!

We used ear-bandits. Loved them as they gave my daughter back her confidence after having to get tubes and becoming terrified of putting her head in the water. Worth every penny! :-)

We have similar plugs called "Tube dawgs." They stay in very well. The ear band-it does help to make sure they stay in. It can slip easily, though, but will stay put with goggles.
