Experience with Shark Steam Pocket Mop

Hi moms. I recently moved to a house with mostly tile flooring. To sweep and mop by hand it takes me 2 hours. (With 3 month-old baby and 26 month-old toddler, I can scarcely find 10-20 minutes in the day.) I have almost made up my mind to shell out the $100-$130 for the Shark Steam Pocket Mop (model #S3501). It is he most expensive model but, I think it will be worth it if it does what it says it does. I may be able to clean the floor while holding a crying baby and not have to worry about the other slipping on wet floors! Just wondering if any of you have anything to share.

Just after posting, I noticed two other requests on steam mops. I found the one review comparing the shark, haan, envirosteamer, and monster very helpful http://www.mamasource.com/request/5492711491624763393/161... , however, it seems as if most people have the first steam mop model from shark: steam mop S3101 or possibly the Deluxe Steam Mop S3202. The newest model seems to have a larger water compartment as well as the longest cord mentioned as yet: 28 or 30 feet. After looking up the other 3 products it seems that the newest shark also has a lower profile for easy cleaning under furniture. The only thing that I don't know is how hot the pocket mop gets. On the models compared, the shark only heated to 110 degrees while all 3 of the others heated to over 220 degrees. Anyone have personal knowledge re the steam pocket?

I have one of the Sharks, I think it's the deluxe model (not sure, but it was from Bed, Bath & Beyond). I have about 1200 square feet of floor that needs to be swept and mopped, and even with the steam mop, it still takes me 1-2 hours (I tend to sweep it all, them dry swiffer (to remove left over dust, then mop). It takes me a while, but I feel with the steam (vs the old way with a mop with cold water (I used hot water, but it didn't stay hot long enough) mop it at least gets my floors a little cleaner. It did however, take a few mopping session to get a lot of the dirt of the floor (when there's a lot of dirt on the floor, it tends to leave streaks). I am not sure if you can do it holding your baby. When I do it, I usually use both hands in order to get my floors really clean - it's a workout session for me.
I was able to get my boys (21 months apart) to nap at about the same time so I would sweep when they were awake and mop when they were napping. You don't want them to get near the steam (it's hot!).

I have the original and my mother in law has the pocket. We both love them (I love hers more than mine. mine is a bit hard to push)! As long as you follow the directions you should not have a lot of water on the floor (if any). I read some review before I got mine and there were a lot of people talking about having puddles of water, but the manual tells you why it happens.
If you decided to go with the shark, check Costco (or costco.com). The price is pretty much the same as anywhere else, but you get extra pads, which are nice to have.

I know nothing about those mops; however, I used to get up about an hour before my kids when they were little and sweep & mop the floor and run the vacuum... we had mostly tile floors with an area rug in the living room. This way the floors were clean and dry before the babies woke up.
