Hi moms,
Father's day is coming up, and I would like to do something special for my baby's father. We have a 7 month old and one on the way. Problem is, he makes the money, and I don't want to ask him for money to buy a gift for him...any advice on what i can do to make his day special? Inexpensive gift ideas/projects ?

Or depending on your husbands interests...a keychain with a picture of the baby or even some measuring tapes have a slot to insert a picture. Also you can get a shadow box, spray paint and plaster of paris--- spray paint the shadow box, mix the plaster of paris and stick it in the shadow box with baby's handprint and foot print. My son's father did this for me and it looks great on the wall by all of his pictures!! He even dressed it up with some butterflies and roses. It's the best keepsake ever. Well, that and the plate he had my son paint at color me mine!
Hi K.,
I am buying a set of (4) drink coasters from Michael's, the arts and crafts store. They are glass and made so you can insert your own pictures in them. I'm going to put pics of my daughter and husband in each coaster. I'm not sure how much you want to spend, but the store close to me has them for $13.
If you don't have this already you can get kits and do hand or footprint molds for a nice keepsake, good luck, even a candle lit dinner at home can be a nice surprise.
I found a cute poem online about small children. I printed it on plain paper, put a picture of my son on the bottow right and his handprint on the bottom left. I bought a cheap ($4) frame from wal-mart to put it in.
Here's the poem:
Sometimes you get discouraged
Because I am so small
And always leave my fingerprints
On furniture and walls
But every day I’m growing —
I’ll be grown some day
And all those tiny handprints
Will surely fade away
So here’s a little handprint
Just so you can recall
Exactly how my fingers looked
When I was very small
Feel free to us it! I think it looks really good, and cute! I figured my husband can either put it in our room on the dresser or take it to work. Hope this helps, let us know what you end up doing!
