Go to shutterfly.com! Last year I made my husband an apron with my baby's naked pic (his booty) and put a caption, "Cookin' with Gas", on it. I think it cost $15. And with the apron I gave some grilling tools. But shutterfly has so many things like tshirts and mugs that you can personalize. Also, you can scrapbook one single page of photos and frame it for his office. and if you go toa craft store(is there a Michael's up here? I just moved from Chicago, sorry), they have foam stuff like can covers that you can decorate with foam stickers, paint hand prints as if they're holding the cover, and do all sorts of stuff. One thing I love to do when I'm in a bind... I take a pic of the little one, and put it on heart shaped cardstock. I trace the hands of the little one (as best as possible) on cardstock and cut out. Take those little pins that are flat on one side and and they seperate to hold things together, I hope you know what I'm talking about. But anyway, use those to fasten the hands onto the heart so they cover the picture but can swing open. Finally, print up the following, "Take a look and you'll see" (on one hand), "Who loves you best" (put on the other hand), "Of course, it's ME!" (on the heart under the pic). Lastly, I attach a magnet on the back.
Hope this helps.

Last year our daycare provider did the cutest thing. She bought cozy covers for a can (pop of course!) The kids colored them and she wrote Happy Father's Day 2006 at the bottom.
Another year she bought again at the dollar store grill tools. Let the kids color the handles and wrote happy fathers day along one side. Using perment marker was great.
Lastly for Mother's Day this year she took an old shoe of the kids, spray painted them silver then wrote Happy Mother's Day on the toe or depending on the size of shoe, then she planted a flower in the shoe. They are the cutest thing for my kitchen window. Hope these ideas help. Hand prints on the grilling apron is always a nice idea too!

I just bought one of those t-shirts at Walmart with the paint and you can put the handprints all over it.

How about a stepping stone or a t shirt with your child's hand prints? You can get the paint or a stepping stone kit at Michael's for pretty cheap. My girls are getting daddy some new shirts from Wal-mart.

I'm making a framed page (8-1/2 x 11) with a 4x6 picture of the kids and their hand prints on it too. I'm doing the hand prints with finger paint. You can put borders on pictures if you order online at Wal-mart or Walgreens and you can pick them up at the store. All I have to buy is the frame and the picture since I already have cardstock paper and fingerpaint. My son is 3 years old and my daughter is 3 months old.

snapfish.com can be your very best friend. They do all kinds of really low cost photo gifts. For my fiance's first father's day last year I made him a mousepad (he is a computer junkie) of he and my daughter the day she was born. It turned out adorable and he loves it!
Hope this helps.
