Fellow Sprint Customers.... I Want Your Opinions...

I've had Nextel or Sprint for the past 14yrs. They've been good to me. I DO NOT plan to change services to anyone else. That is not what I'm asking about.

I was wondering what phone you've found that you love and why?

I have Sprint Everything Messaging Plan and have 3 other people on my plan so I will not be changing to Everything Data. That bill would be astronomical.

I currently have the Rumor 2. It's done me ok. This is the first time that I've had battery issues though.

I don't intend on spending a ton of money... As my hubby is in line for a new phone as well. I know what he's looking for. I am really only worried about one thing... A QWERTY keyboard.

Your input?

What can I do next?

Hello,

My hubby and I have the EVO. It does sooo much, I log onto my laptop less. You just have to use caution when downloading apps. It has 3 different keyboard options including the original Qwerty so you can choose the best one for you. We have the same plan as you too, it is a decent plan.

Depending on if you want a touch screen or not, the EPIC is the pull out keyboard version of the EVO. Also, the screen on the EPIC is a tad smaller than the EVO but since they are both big screens its not really a big deal.

I liked my Instinct also, it did almost as much as the EVO. I never used every feature on it, as I know I won't with the EVO but it was just enough to keep me happy and the do the main thing cell phones are meant to do...make and take calls :)

The battery for the EVO does drain pretty quickly especially if you are using the internet alot, the Instinct didn't drain as quickly as the EVO but it came with a replacement battery that I would keep charged and with me.

Hope this helps!

I know you don't want to change - but maybe Sprint has a version of my phone. I have a Verizon G'Zone. It's dust proof, water proof, and shock proof. Shout out to all the moms of toddlers! This phone is perfect for moms. My son dropped one phone in the toilet - ruined. The next phone he dropped in a glass of apple juice - ruined! I went to Verizon and asked for something indestructible. TADA the G'Zone. You can drop this sucker out of a 2 story building and not break it. You can actually take pictures under water!

I have the purple Blackberry Curve and I love it!! I also loved the Tour. I use my blackberry messenger all the time. A blackberry is not a neccessaty for me to have, but I don't think I will ever go back to another phone. I did have the Rumor before this phone and I really did like it. I have heard good things about the Evo as well. I think it's really just about what you need on the phone. I know that I use just about everything on mine! I also originally picked my phone because of the color. I didn't care what it did. lol

Best of luck to you!!

It all depends on what you use your phone for. I, too, have Sprint. I had a Palm Centro-I liked it very much-good calendar and okay texting (not touchscreen). Internet was mediocre at best on that phone. It was pretty limited. The camera was pretty good though.

Then I had a Palm Pre. My husband and I both had them. I had a lot of battery issues and screen malfunctions with that one. Both of us had issues with the on/off button getting stuck. It also froze up more. It had good internet & okay texting, but a lousy calendar. I need a good calendar with kids going in different directions all the time. The camera was not nearly as good as the one on the Centro either. But, you could get a lot more applications with this one.

Now, I have the Palm EVO. I LOVE IT! It has good everything. Great calendar, great texting (you can do it on the screen or with the buttons & since it has a slide out keypad, it is much larger than either the Centro or Pre). If you do it on the touchscreen, it has technology that is called Swype. You run your finger from letter to letter and it guesses the word. I have to say, it's pretty darn accurate, but it gives you a choice. If you want the first word in the list of choices, you just move on to your next word. It's way better than using a keypad in my opinion. It also has a million free applications so you can get just about anything you need. It has a GPS system that announces where to turn even. I love it. It's the best phone I've ever had, but not cheap.

good luck,

We have had great luck with HTC phones..and I know you said not alot of money and such...but we have the Evo 4G's here (3 of them..me, hubby and 16 yr old daughter). I got mine in June for my birthday..daughter in August for her b-day and hubby got his about month after that.

We were off-contract with Sprint for a few years, buying our last few phones used off Craigslist..great deals! Even on new model phones! I hated my last HTC phone and so jumped ship and got a used Blackberry I had for about a year. I loved the texting and such, but calling, text and a few app's are all I used it for. In a new phone I wanted everything. Killer camera, apps..fun and functional, etc. My biggest fear was the keyboard. I keep short nails, but even with those, I would "click" off the corners of the keys with my short nails for typing fast. Touch keyboard and a heat sensitive one to boot (no stylus) worried me ALOT.

It is still my biggest challenge with this phone but I do fine and have adjusted great. The other functions and features of the phone far offset it for me. I love it! And now my teen daughter is figuring techy things our for me..then teaching her old mom the new tricks! LOL

We did go back "on contract" with all 3 of these new Evo's..to get the better price.

Have fun picking a new phone!
