Hello ladies,
I am heading into my 27 week of pregnancy and as of Friday have been feeling some extremely "rapid movements" from my little boy that last about 5 seconds and then stop. I am aware that babies can have seizures while in utero and i am terribly worried. My doctor has listened to his heart and says that the baby is likely ok. I am waiting to hear back from a perinatologist to possibly get a sonogram. I would like to know if anyone here has experienced the same terrifying vibrations that come and go and was your baby born fine? This is in no comparison to hiccups or his usual somersaults. This truly is violent shaking that is normally followed by his usual movements. Oh, I can't wait till he is here in my arms- all this worrying is driving me nuts! Thank you ladies.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you for your responses ladies! They bring me much comfort. Well, today i had my appt w/ the perinatalogist and they did a fairly extensive ultrasound. I even got the chance to view our son in 3D!!! What an amazing experience. They again checked his heartbeat and all was good. They could not find anything wrong w/ my little blessing (thankfully) and could only offer "nerve spasms" as an explanation. I've documented every episode in a journal and if it happens again i will be sure to keep record of where these spasms take place on my stomach cause this will further confirm if they are really just my stomach nerves jerking around rather than him. So far they've occured in the about the same 3 places of my stomach so i really hope it's me not him afterall. Thank you again for your responses. I appreciate them greatly. I wish all of you the best!

I'm 27 weeks pregnant also and have the same exact feelings. Started with me about 2 weeks ago. This is #4 for me and also never experienced this movement with the other 3. Just had an appt. yesterday with my OB and everything was fine. I would try not to worry so much if I were you.

Happened to me with my single preganancy and my twin pregnancy and everyone turned out fine. I was questioning seizure activity as well and my OB told me it was unlikely but he couldn't explain the litlle "tremors".

I'm sure all will be fine. Although I had morning sickness the entire time, I really loved being pregnant and all those little moments I shared with that little gift inside that were just between them and I. Enjoy the little things about your pregnancy. It all goes so fast and before too long, you'll be missing it all.

I am 33 weeks pregnant and mine has done that too!! This is my second pregnancy, with my first I don't remember that ever happening. It started at around 27 weeks and has happened a total of 10 times. I don't know what it is, but her heart beat is fine and I had an ultrasound and she looks perfect.
I was trying to explain this to my mother when it started.... it truly feels like a seizure of some sort, it's def. not a normal movement!
