Hi All,

Do you have any advice for finding biological parents? Is it best to hire a lawyer? A private investigator? How do you know who's good? I can give more info if anyone feels like they could help. The person looking is 45, possibly Native American, and the birth state is Texas.

Many thanks.

What can I do next?

There are sites devoted to reuniting birth parents with adoptees. If the agency still exists, requests can be made through them...though no guarantee of getting info that way.

Honestly, I'd start with Google. Then I'd ask an adoption social worker what the next step should be.

Good luck.

You start with the agency they were adopted though. I have never bothered, it seems kind of pointless since I don't want more family. My best friend growing up and I were both adopted through the same agency. She contacted them and using the information they are required to give she found both her biological parents.

Other than that private investigators.

I found my bio father by joining a service online, it cost me $39.00 for three months, the fourth phone call I made found my 1/2 brother, my father had already passed, I had been looking for him since 1974, I don't know if it was a fluke or just that technology had become that good over the years. I never would have had or had had the $$$ to hire anyone, that is why it took me so long.

You need an approx. DOB, last known or best that you can find place of address, if you know of any other children you think he/she may have had, THEIR parents info if you can find it, etc..The more you can input the better the outcome.

Good Luck!

The site I used has changed the name I will go online later & see if I can find what it is later & can send you a message.

If the person seeking them has their names and any other pertinent information there are many sites on the internet to help locate people on your own so I would start there. Ancestry.com is a good place for finding people, too. Depending on the reason he or she is looking can open or close doors, the parents may not want to be found.
