My husband LOVED his, but it kept falling off and he eventually lost it. He was devastated because he loved it so much, and it had helped him become much more aware of how much he was eating and how many steps he was taking each day.

I didn't want to replace it just to have it fall off again, so I did a bunch of research and ended up getting him a Jawbone UP. He's even happier with this than with the Fitbit, and it doesn't fall off.

I'm wearing mine right now. I have an obsessive/competitive personality, so the Fitbit is perfect for someone like me. Fitbit tells me I have to walk 10,000 steps today? You bet your @$$ I'm walking 10,000 steps today, even if it means jogging in place for the last 3,000 at the end of the day. Only walked 4.5 miles by the end of the day? Nope, I'm on my elliptical machine finishing up. Fit bit will NOT beat me.

It makes me more aware of how much I'm sitting vs walking around and of how many calories I'm burning (I also keep track of my food intake via My Fitness Pal, which syncs with Fitbit) vs eating.

I've lost 8 lbs in the last 4 weeks and lowered my fat % by 3% overall. I was feeling motivated to get healthy anyway, and the Fitbit is just one tool I'm using to move myself along. Yeah, I love it.

I like mine. I have the One, which clips to your bra, belt or whatever and then you put it into a wristband to track your sleep. It's eye opening to see how little I move some days. To hit my 10,000 step goal I have to go for a long walk (3+ miles) and be deliberately active throughout the day. It was cool to wear it at Disney last week and see that the day we went to Magic Kingdom, I walked over 18,000 steps.

It motivates me to get up and move instead of sitting, when I have a choice. For example, I had a really sedentary day a few weeks ago where I had only walked about 2500 steps. I had to bring my son to an hour long appointment in the evening where I had to wait for him, so I paced the lobby of the building he was in and got in another 2500 steps. Without the fitbit, I would have sat and played a game on my phone or read a magazine. If I get to 8000 steps in a day, I'll go for a walk around the neighborhood to get the last 2000 steps in.

I like mine, we got them two weeks ago. I like seeing what I am or am not doing.. I think I might be doing more than I check.. and nope I have a desk job, so I sit most of the day. it makes me more aware and more walking and the more I move the better I feel.

One of my friends has one and she's not so sure it's all it's supposed to be.

I've also seen some saying there was some sort of reaction some had to them and they had been recalled.

So, after saying all that. I'm sure the people who are designing it are constantly refining and and upgrading it. I think if you do your research and figure out which model or style will best work for you then it would be a good thing to have.

One thing I will suggest to do to supplement it, to verify it's accuracy, is to do the stuff on sparkpeople.com.

sparkpeople.com has a program where you can enter in every single thing that goes in your mouth, from a Big Mac to a piece of Double Bubble Bubblegum. It breaks down the information into usable data and the program will even help you design an exercise plan to meet goals such as "increase your cardio by 20 minutes and increase weight training by 15 minutes". It's a good program.

I'd use both to see if the information is similar or way off. sparkpeople.com has been around a long time and I'd trust it when comparing how many miles I've walked and one says 1 mile and the other says 5 miles...

My husband and I both had one. They were okay. He lost his several times when it came unclipped and fell off. Their final demise was when they went through the washer. They never worked after that and I never felt the need or desire to replace them.

If you want to track your distance try a free App like Endomondo.

I've gone back and forth on this. I think it'd be cheaper to buy a pedometer if you want to track your steps. For me, I just go for a run every day and save the $100 for something else. I'm not against them, I just see it as an unnecessary expense to track something you could just go do.

I love mine. I have a desk job and have only lost 4 pounds (1 lb/month) since getting mine, but that beats the nothing that was happening for me before (and I'd been tracking my food for years).
