Hey Mommas,

I am going to start making my sons food myself. I was just wondering if anyone has any idea which food processors are the best for making baby food.

Thanks!

What can I do next?

When I made food for my kids, I used the magic bullet. Made just enough to get us through the week. It runs about $60. I am sure if you have a blender that would work too. Unless you want one, I don;t think it is necessary to buy an expensive food processor. Although, I have a Quisinart Food Processor and I love it! I use it for salsa, grinding meat, making sauces, you name it. I think it costs about $300. So, if you have the money and think you would use it, I would go for the food processor, otherwise my other suggestions work great also.

I'd recommend the Cuisinart Mini Prep. It's small, simple, and easy to clean and it does the job. I've made baby food for both my kids and it worked out really well. Books from the library on making baby food were really helpful to get me started. So glad your little guy has you for a stay at home mom. I've been home for 4 years this week and love it. I make my daughters food and I use a cuisinart. Kinda expensive but totally worth it. It is practically bullet proof and replacement parts are available if you ever need them. Its also nice because you can use it for so many things you do in the kitchen that are not baby food related. (you can use it for years after you are done making baby food and you don't have an appliance taking up space that is only good for one thing..) Kudos to you for making your baby food. You will be amazed at the difference in color and smell and taste when compared to jarred foods. Not only that but you can make so many things that are unavailable in premade foods. It takes some time but make a decent size batch and freeze it in smaller portions (I use the kid co. ice cube trays that are one portion per cube) then thaw whatever you decide to feed them. Works great! Best of luck to you!! -S

I have a friend that made her daughters baby food and she used a blender. I think any are probably ok.
