When I made food for my kids, I used the magic bullet. Made just enough to get us through the week. It runs about $60. I am sure if you have a blender that would work too. Unless you want one, I don;t think it is necessary to buy an expensive food processor. Although, I have a Quisinart Food Processor and I love it! I use it for salsa, grinding meat, making sauces, you name it. I think it costs about $300. So, if you have the money and think you would use it, I would go for the food processor, otherwise my other suggestions work great also.
