Hi Moms! I'm trying to get a handle on what to do for my daughter's 4th birthday at the end of November. We can't do it at home, so we need somewhere fun and reasonably priced to go. We painted pottery for her third birthday and she loved it, but I'd like to do something different this year. I'm not sure how many kids we'll have -- she just started pre-K and I don't know if this is one of those situations where we're supposed to invite the whole class . . . I'm just really lost and some guidance would be great! Thanks!

Hi M.,

When my daughter turned 5 we had her birthday party at the Papa Gino's in Weymouth (down the street from BJ's). It was perfect, they did everything and yes, we did invite the whole class. It was fine because not everyone came and it was quite affordable. Good luck!

What about going bowling? When my son was in pre-k he was invited to a ton of bowling parties at Timberlanes on 18 in Abington. My son had a blast because they could bowl then play different video games that they have there.

Best of luck!

We did a party at Ginger Betty's in Quincy for my daughter's 4th bday. And everyone had a great time. And it's a great time of year for gingerbread decorating. They do have a website you can check out.

Try the Ellis School of Gymnastics in Braintree. They're across the street from the Lottery's building and it's right on the edge of Weymouth. I've never done abirthday there but the playgroup I lead has gone there several times and they do a good job of setting it up for younger kids. They can run, tumble, jump in a pit with foam blocks, jump on the trampolines, and just have a great time. I think they do birthday parties, too. Their information is below.

Good luck!
