So What Happened?

Called the doc & it sounds like we should be good. I also googled it & feel a lot better! I think the note coming home is what scared me the most!

If the kid had tested positive for Ebola, I'd freak out. But the flu? Not so much. You got her a flu shot, right? So no worries! She will be fine.

You could also call your Pediatrician and tell them and ask them about it.
I would call them and notify them, and see what they say.

DO NOT PANIC!!! Panic is what makes everything worse.

Call your pediatrician and let them know that she was AROUND a child that has been tested positive for I-B.

Ensure your daughter knows to wash her hands frequently with soap and water.

Keep an eye on her for symptoms - but other than that - do NOT PANIC!!!

Just keep an eye out for the typical respiratory symptoms. Nothing else to do about it now. If she comes down with the symptoms and a fever, the quicker you take her to a Dr. the more likely they will prescribe Tamiflu which will shorten her illness by about 2 days and possibly lesson the symptoms.

We can all get exposed to flu and other viruses in our daily lives, anytime we are around people. But we don't catch everything we've been exposed to. I got influenza B three years ago and my daughter had been with me the three days before and was sleeping in bed with me, and she never got it (she was 5). Her dad picked me up and took me to the Dr. and he never got it.

I wouldn't worry about it-esp if she has a flu shot.

She'll be fine-it's influenza A that is the one to be concerned about.

Did your child get the flu vaccine at the start of the cold-n-cough-n-flu season?

If so, you have little to worry about about. Just as they promised, they really nailed the version they released this year. No one in my family has had so much as a sniffle even during this freakishly cold and snowy winter. (knock on wood)

If your child has his shots, I wouldn't be too worried. Show your kiddo how to take the necessary precautions (wash hands before eating, etc) and just try to relax about it. I am a germophobia and I understand how feel, but it will only help to build his immunity. Make sure your kid drink lots of juice, Vitamin C etc to build up his system against anything that might happen.

Well, it's the flu. Has your child had a flu shot? If your child runs a high fever and starts to complain of aching and becomes sick, take her to the doctor and let them know she has a classmate with the flu.
