We just purchased a new couch and need to get rid of our old one. Do you or do you know of anyone that is in need of a sleeper sofa. It's about 15 year's old. Sleeper mattress is in good condition. The couch is multi color and in okay condition. There is a little tear on the back. Or does anyone know of a place that will take couchs for donation or whatever.

What can I do next?

Colleen-We have found a place in Bloomington called Bridging. They provide furniture (in good condition) to families who have lost everything. A lot of the hurricane victims that came to MN got things from there. They only take things that look nice and are in decent condition. We have donated 2 chairs and an old dining set. http://www.bridging.org/

Good Luck!

A great place to get rid of things is www.twincitiesfreemarket.org

You can find or get rid of items here.

The other place is ARC, they often have pick up dates but I don't know them based on area but they are www.arcsvaluevillage.org

We live in Eagan. I put ours on the curb and prayed a lot.... I thought nobody would take it but it only lasted there a couple of hours. I was so happy when I looked and it was gone!! The Goodwill or other similar places will not accept it if it has stains or tears or is not in good condition. The trash will not take it unless you pay a fee. So I would try the curb and pray!

You could put it out on Craigslist as a "freebie". We have sold a number of items off this website and are really pleased with the responses we have received. Web address is:
www.craigslist.com (Make sure you type in the "S" for craigs.)

Have you ever tried listing it on twincitiesfreemarket.org? I've found homes for an old clothes dryer and love seat that I no longer needed. It's a great way to find homes for items that still have use left in them.
