Hi there! I am looking for fundraising suggestions. I have a co-worker who will be running out of sick days and is facing a serious medical condition. She is a young mom, who was the primary breadwinner in the family and now has no timeline of when she can return to work. Of course we'd talk to her to get her approval first, but the people I work with want to do something to help, we just don't know what or how! Thanks!

depending on where you work, you might be able to have other co-workers donate some of their sick/vacation days to that person.
My favorite fundraiser that I've done has been to find a restaurant or bar (preferably)and strike a deal with them to host a party with a silent auction also. Ask the bar mgr what the price would be for a wristband for drinks (set a time for open to close)and some apps, set the price $10 above that and have a party! For the silent auction, call local restaurants for gift cards, sports teams for memorabilia or tickets, Tupperware, Pampered Chef, etc, consultants for product donations, other people who might donate their services (e.g a masseuse) and just put together some fun gift baskets to raffle. Here is a way that I can assist you in helping your co-worker:
It's called a Pay-It-Forward Party... what we do, have guests just like a regular Tupperware party BUT when all the sales are calculated... instead of you keeping all of the hostess gifts, we donate them to your co-worker!! Tupperware has some great toys, which would be a help this time of year!... Doesn't that sound like FUN? I would also contribute 15% of the party profit to your co-worker to help in this time of need.

My mom just did one for one of her co-workers. What they did was open the office after hours and through a party. They sold snacks, crafts, baked goods, drinks, ect. Each person in the office made a gift basket and they raffled them off. Others even donated bigger items and had a larger raffle. They also did a split the pot. They had all the party people come and do their little talk and then all of the party people dontated their profits. They took donations and just had a great time. They made sure to invite all of their friends and family and now is a good time because people got to do some Christmas shopping. They raise just over 10,000 in 7 hours.
