Family Shelter Service (Dupage County's domestic violence shelter) has a resale shop in Naperville. The address is 1512 N. Naper Blvd, Naperville Phone: ###-###-####. Call to see if they have need for furniture. All the proceeds go directly to the shelter. Clients of the shelter are also able to "shop" at the shelter for needs.

Goodwill, salvation army thrift store on 75th st and lemont rd, church garage sales, domestic violence shelter, see if any nursing homes or homeless shelters need stuff. Many times they help people out setting upa household. Organizations that help new immigrants get settled would love it, too. Good luck, enjoy that good feeling!!!

I recommend contacting the St. Vincent de Paul Society. They will pick up from your home, but the sofas must be in good condition (no large stains or large rips.)

It is difficult to find a place that accepts furniture, so we have been happy with donating to a local charity, Wayside Cross, in aurora. They do accept furniture (as long as it is not damaged). I don't know how far their pick up range is, but you should give them a call. They are located in downtown aurora.

Call your church or if you don't go a neighbors church and talk to the pastor and find out if there is someone he knows of in need. Sometimes someone is needy, lost their house and contents to foreclosure and really just need help without going to a resale shop and adding to their burden. Or if you need someone to pick it up do freecycle. If you need the tax deductuon go to goodwill.

Try Sharing Connections in Downers Grove - http://www.sharingconnections.org/ - You can schedule a pick-up date with them. Their volunteers come in a truck with a lift gate.
