Hi-Momma's!! I posted a few weeks back about a HORRIBLE NIGHTMARE I had at one of our local hospital's. I was gracious enough not to list the hospital's name because I thought it was tacky,rude,and at that point was going to give the hospital and the doctors the benefit of the doubt and try to work the situation out with me. Obviously they do not feel the same way I do about the situation and so now we have to get attorney's involved.
After the nightmare happened I posted on here seeking advice and asking if anyone knew of an attorney. I got a few responses. I am going to re-post my original post but after posting it I recieved a Fed-Ex package from the Cheif Medical Officer from St.David's North Austin Medical Center with a letter attached along with my original posting. The letter stated all communications have to go through their attorneys from here on out since I am looking for an attorney. My quiestion-WHAT?? HUH?? How on earth did this man know where or how to find this posting? Granted I know it is his right to read on here, it is a free right but to me to copy and send me my very own posting is a little bit of harrassment. What do you momma's think?
Here is my original posting-and for the record I have attained an attorney now. Thank Goodness for knowing people in the right places!! I know how long and drawn out lawsuits can be but when something like this happens to you,you just can't let people get away with stuff like this!! You just can't!!!

HERE IS THE ORIGINAL POSTING-
Okay,Momma's!! This might be a little long and I am sorry but I have a lot to say. Last month I started having severe right sided abdominal pain with nasuea. I went the E.R. They did a C.T. scan and gave me pain medication. The E.R. doctor said the C.T. scan came back normal. He diagnosed with me "PROBABLE SCAR TISSUE" from previous abdominal surgeries. IE-Hysterectomy and C-section. I was told to follow-up with my PCP but if the pain got worse to return to the E.R.
Well,the pain got worse and I returned to the E.R. They did another C.T. scan and abdominal ultra sound. Again all came back normal. I begged them to admit and told them there was something wrong with me. So,they "GRACIOUSLY" did.
While I spent three days in the hospital they called in a surgeon who said he refused to do surgery on me for just scar tissue. I said to him then I want to see another surgeon. THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH ME!! I WAS IN SEVERE PAIN. The other surgeon came in and said that he honestly did not think it was scar tissue but had no idea what was wrong with me. They then called in a gastro doctor who performed a colonoscopy. At the same time they where prepping me for a colonoscopy they wanted a 24 hour urine catch. The urine catch came back with feces in it of course and they were frustrated with that. They kept asking me if I wanted ativan and I kept denying it and for the life of me I couldn't figure out why they were asking me to take it.
Next thing I know they asked me if they could call in a Phsycologist to see me. I said "SURE" but asked them WHY? Their response was because "THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH YOU!!" "Maybe it is all in your Head." The phsycologist came in and saw me. He diagnosed me with Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome from being assaulted when I was 16 and that I now volunteer in Prisons and that I have had two recent deaths in the family.
They also called in a gynocologist. The gynocologist basically said there was nothing on her end that could be wrong with me. After 3 PURE DAYS OF HELL they released me without finding a single thing wrong with me!!!
I was very admant about finding out what was wrong with me and went to a different PCP doctor who sent me to a urologist. At the urologist he took one look at the CT SCANS from the ER and Hospital and said "YOUR GALLBLADDER!!" "Your gallbladder is inflamed!!"
He sent me to a different surgeon who after doing a HIDA SCAN,removed my gallbladder 4 days later.
I have never been treated so badly,inhumanly,with such little dignity and the staff the CEO and the Cheif of medicine could care less!! Also while there they gave me two different medications that I am not allowed to have. One I am allergic to,the other is not prescribed.
Does anyone know of anyone that can help me with this?? I have a meeting with the CEO of the hospital and director of the Chief of Medicine Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. and I want to go in there with all my ducks in a row!!
I have all my medical records and scans from the hospital in possesion.

They cancelled the meeting and said everything has to go through our attorneys!! I wasn't looking for litigation or anything like that just for them to understand what they did wrong!! NOPE,NADA,NOTHING!! They are a bunch of jerks and could care less. I am not standing for this. I am one of the little fish in the big sea and I am out now to get the big fish. You just don't do that to people and get away with it. You just don't!!!!! I will keep everyone up to date but for now I have retained council and they feel very strong because we have 7 doctors invovled and one very large hospital!! I guess I am wondering, too, how they knew it was you and it seems your privacy rights have been violated -- since you did not post which hospital it was!
This is horrible; because of HIPAA, it seems your rights have been violated...but I'm sure your attorney is on top of it.

I worked for that hospital 10 years ago in, what was at that time, their trainwreck of a business services department. I'm dying to know what happened at the meeting. Are you able to update us? Did you find out how they knew about your posting?
Let this be a reminder to us that the Internet is often more public than we think, no matter what site we post on and how "veiled" we think we are. :-(

If at all possible, I would meet with these people at a neutral location. Going back to their hospital is stressful and will be on their turf. DEFINITELY good that your attorney will be with you, regardless. Sounds like you have a good case and I H. they will be reasonable.
OMG! this sounds like my sister's nightmare!!! i've forwarded her your post and hope she responds. she's not a mom (as much as she has always wanted to be!), but has suffered indescribable physical and emotional pain similar to your story with the SAME treatment at both NAMC and RR Hosp!!!! All within the last few years and the latest and absolute worst go-round was this summer at both hospitals! her problem is still unresolved and living with debilitating unexplained pain! you are not alone! please be sure to post the outcome of your meeting this week. i'll be sure to keep an eye out for your update so i can send to my sister.
