I would go to your doctor and make sure it really is your gallbladder or it could be something else. I had horrible painful GB attacks all the time before I realized it was my GB. I went to the doctor, described my symptoms, she at first treated it as acid reflux with prescription strength H2 blockers, etc. but they did not help. Went back to the doctor, who scheduled an ultrasound exam, which found the stones in my GB that were causing all the pain. Got my GB out 3 weeks later. My GB attacks were not related to stress but certainly to what I ate - anything fatty or greasy caused my GB to kick into overdrive excreting bile to help digest the fat, pushing stones into the bile duct that lead to the small intestine, which is what caused the pain (which made me feel like I wanted to die). If your pain is more stress-related, it could be an ulcer, but only a doctor can tell you for sure.
I knew a girl that ended up having emergency surgery to get her GB removed. She had a stone get stuck in the bile duct and she developed jaundice and pancreatitis. So yes, I would see your doctor before it takes a turn for the worse.
