P.K.
Three days or so. First day the hardest. Having it done on Friday, you
should be good for Monday. School starts in July?
I have posted a few times in the past and i finally went and got a hidascan done and my gallbladder is only functioning at 9% and they want it out. My question is, what was some of your recoveries like? If I get it done on a friday could i function by sunday and deal with the kids (7 & 5) Monday they start school and i wanted to take it off for my daughters first day of kindergarten so i could drop her off and come home and rest until the school day is over. My husband will be around in the mornings but gone in the evenings, except friday and saturday. I just wanted to see if I was understimating the recovery since its a easy surgery? What should I expect? When did you return to work (desk job)
school doesnt start in july it starts mid august which im hoping to be able to push the surgery out til then (Ive been dealing with it thus far whats a few more weeks right?) that way i can be off for the first day of school. Just waiting to hear from the surgeon now to schedule

I have mine out on a monday and by wednesday I felt pretty good. The first 24 hours i think were the hardest because of the gas they pump in you, so I had a lack of sleep. I took a whole week off of work - but easily could of gone back on Thursday. You should be fine. I think a lot of it depends on your pain tolerance too.
when I had mine out, I was IN BED for about 4 days, barely able to move. When my husband went back to work, my mom came over for the next week and helped me out with my daughter who was 1 at the time. I didn't feel fully myself for about 3 weeks. For some recovery is faster, but I had a hard time with it
I had mine out on a Monday and went rock climbing the following Sunday. You should be fine.
I had mine out a few months ago after HIDA scan showed 0% function. The first 2 days were the hardest, I felt like I couldn't stand up straight for some reason, but my pain was easily managed with Ibuprophen. I had my surgery on a Thursday and was on my own with the kids (8 year old in school and 2 year old twins) by Monday- I just couldn't lift them or walk too quickly. I think you should be fine, just stay in bed and rest as much as possible while you have help!!!! Good luck with the surgery, mine was way easier than I expected.
I had mine out on a Friday and was back to work on Tuesday, would have gone back on Monday but it was Labor day. I think the only restriction I had was lifting the kids, but with your kids being older, that shouldn't be an issue.
I had mine out on Monday and was back at work on Thursday where I worked as a nanny. I think it entirely depends on your level of activity and if you can take things easy, like walking slowly instead of a fast pace. It's all up to you and how you handle pain and how fast you heal.
I was sore all over my torso due to the gas the use to fill the abdomen so they can see what they are doing. That was the only discomfort I felt.
I have a friend who will have a tooth pulled and she'll plan on being on her back in bed eating nothing but pudding and jello for a week. I get one pulled and I go back to work the next day or the day after that.
It's all about what "you" want to prioritize and do. If you want to go to the first day of school with kiddo then rest on Sunday and get plenty of sleep. Take your pain meds "if" you need them. I only took 1/2 of a Davocet N-100. That's it, not even Tylenol. I didn't really even need it but hubby put it in my face and said that the doc said I'd wish I had taken it if I didn't take the first one right when I got home from the surgery center.
I would think that if this were me I could do it. I know how I do though. If you've never had surgery then you can't know how you do with anesthesia or the side effects of the meds they give you during it.
I still don't recommend having your gallbladder out, it can be fixed if you would go to a natural Dr, but I had mine out before I went to see a natural Dr. So I know what it is like. At least in Idaho, as soon as you are awake they wheel you out the door. For the next 2 days all I did was puke my guts out. Then I was fine, except for a constant pain. Now not everyone ends with a constant pain, my mom did not, she puked her guts out as well, but then had no pain. My M-I-L also had her gallbladder out, and had sensitivity to touch for quit awhile, don't know if she puked, but functioned fine and went back to work the following Monday.
The Gallbladder helps filter the gunk going into your liver. Your liver processes everything for your body. If you take your gallbladder out then your liver gets the direct gunk and slowly quits working. Both my moms and my liver have quit working to full capacity and I am in liver failure, that is where my constant pain came from. My mom is now allergic to almost every food. She can eat rice and a few cooked vegetables. She cannot eat anything else, if she does she gets extremely sick. This all happened after she had her gallbladder out.
I don't want to scare you, it is a procedure that medical doctors do all the time, and people recover fine from it. I would expect if they do the port hole surgery you will be sensitive, but fine by Monday.
